Camera won't turn on using recommended KLIC-8000 battery

I had been using NIH rechargable batteries in my Kodak Z712 IS camera since purchasing it about 2 to 3 years ago. I recently was having problems with the battery life only lasting for about 5 pictures so I chatted with a Kodak support person who told me I needed to use Li-Ion batteries and told me that my camera would be compatible with the Kodak Li-Ion Rapid Battery Charger with KLIC-8000 battery. I purchased this and got the battery all charged (light turned green per charger instructions) and put it in my camera and absolutely nothing happens. I know the battery pack is in correctly as there is only 1 way to put it in. I put the NIH batteries in and it turns on. What could be the problem?

My Z812 keeps telling me I need to reset the date/time every time I turn it on, even if I have just done it. Also drawing batteries very quickly (lithium, camera type)

It may only happen enter date and time if you remove the battery in the camera., If your not removing the batteru out of the camera you should not recieved that message, unless battery is out of charge or no power.

You should use this battery Kodak Li-Ion rechargeable battery KLIC-8000. This is a special battery for Z812 camera,

Note: You must also need to purchase a charger for this type of battery.
I guarantee you it will provide stable longer power for on your camera

Camera will not turn on

are you using the recommended battery KODAK Li-Ion Rechargeable Digital Camera Battery KLIC-7001? if yes did you charged your battery? If yes try to check if the camera has blinking light on it while its charging? if doesnt have the light there might be a problem on the camera or may be the charger.

Now if has the light indicator thats a good sign., please clean the 3 metals contacts of KLIC-7001 then turn on the camera again., if this solutions did not solved the issue it means camera needs of service please kodak kodak Toll free 1 800 235 6325 for U.S and Canada support only

Battery life of kodak easy share is 2 pictures ... if that

Please check what type of batteries are these.
Z1085 will only work with LITHIUM AA's, Lithium CRV3 (you have to make sure it's not Ni-mh crv3) and a rechargeable KLIC 8000 Lithium-ion battery pack (the blue one). It will not work with any other type of rechargeable battery but KLIC 8000. If you're trying to use ni-mh rechargeables, it will really not work.

My battery life is so short on my new Kodak easyshare Z1485 IS. Which battery will give me the greatest number of shorts? Does greater megapixel use more battery?

The Z1485 requires 3.7 volts to operate properly. You will not get more than 3 volts with standard AA batteries, and worse yet with NiMH rechargeable batteries which only put out 2.4 volts. You should purchase KLIC-8000 Lithium Ion rechargeable batteries and the special charger.

Kodak Z712IS-batteries die so quickly

you can't really get around the fact that digital cameras create a heavy strain on batteries. rechargables are the only way to go with them. now about the chinese battery. the voltage may be fine but that is not under load (being in the camera during operation) so it's deceptive about the voltage.

EasyShare Z712IS

the camera will work with any brand of lithium but only the KLIC 8000 battery will work as a rechargeable

please look at your getting started guide and check page 1, there's an illustration of the 3 types of batts that will work:
lithium crv3, lithium aa and klic 8000
ni-mh is really not compatible

please check at the bottom of your camera, the three types of batts I mentioned are engraved at the battery door

thank you
