It usually depends on where you ride and how far you go..if you only use it for short trips, and live in the desert, i would change it every 6000 miles but its more important to worry about non-usage...if you only ride it occasionally, and only go about 30 miles a week then i would change it every couple of months and don't go by mileage, because combustion gases will form in the oil and create acids..so i personally never go by mileage, i go by how many bottles of oil i"ve added to the engine since i serviced it last..i say by the third bottle its time to change the oil and filter, but if im racing my bike proffessionally, its always before and after a race, and dont have anyone tell you that that is still too sone because the same oil that lubes the top half of the engine is the same oil that lubes the gears, and if you ever noticed that when your bike starts to mis shift and you grind the gears...when you put in fresh oil, it'll shift a lot easier. So to answer your question, whenever you have to ask yourself you probably need to have it changed.

Hi i have mitsubishi Lancer 2005 1.6 Mt the car is knocking on 1500 rpm to 2000 rpm plz help me

Hi. Hope the oil wa drained at the recommended service intervals? Have the oil pressure checked with a mechanical oil pressure gauge from cold start up until she warms up. The pressure should be slighly higher when the oil is cold. But keep the rpm in that range, and see what the pressure gauge shows.

While performing an oil and filter change on my lawn tractor, what can I use to clean the sludge that may be in the oil system?

You could use new oil diluted with kerosene, or even gasoline, to help remove sludge....just run it for a short time and then drain it. But since you have a filter to remove bits of metal from the oil I think there is no need to do anything except change the oil at recommended intervals. It would be helpful to buy a magnetic drain plug to trap small pieces of metal.

What is the oil change interval for a 2005 toyota corolla

3 months interval or after every 3000 miles would be an recommended change by oil companies.

But i personally prefer 4 months interval or after every 3000 miles whichever is earlier would do.

Oil change procedure 2000 road king

the oil tank is on the bottom of the transmission in your RK. There are two drain plugs. The plug towards the front left of the pan is the oil drain plug. The other one is for the transmission.

Drain the oil, replace the filter, refill with three quarts of oil and you're ready to go. The dipstick has two marks on it. The upper mark is "FULL HOT", and the lower mark is "FULL COLD". Do not overfill.

Don't forget to service the transmission and the primary at their recommended intervals.

Good Luck

What type of oil for a 2006 saturn vue - regular, blend or full synthetic?

Use manufacture recommended oil Wt. and rating (Conventional or syn.) Syn. oils allow for longer change intervals, but may not be recommend by manufacture to extend interval. So if it is still under warranty save some money and stay with the Manufacture recommendation conventional oil unless they specify Syn.oil.So as to not void warranty. If out of warrenty Syn. oils can have longer interval between oil change. Dose it effect or have any other real improvement in normal cars???? not really ...for the cos ..No. Is toilet water wetter then sink water?
