Hi Today i went to start my '07 Victory Vegas this morning & it wouldn't start. It sounded like the battery was dead. So i took the battery to a local auto parts store & had them test it. They said it had a full charge. I brought it home cleaned the terminals & bolts put it back in the bike & it started right up but now the engine light is always on. I was told it's a code that the battery was dead & I would have to take it to the Victory dealer so they can clear the code. Is there any way I can clear it so I don't have to pay the service fee. Also after I put the battery in it seems to idle low. Does the have something to do with code as well or do I need to just adjust the idle a little. Thank You Very Much.

if you want to get past going to dealer you need to get manual. if will tell you had to check the codes and how to clear it. this where you can A:buy the book or B: download it. use a good pay site to download its worth the 5-10 bucks.

SOURCE: Engine light on after replacing dead battery
This just happened to me yesterday - except my battery was dead (5 years old). After putting a new battery in it, engine light was on. Found this in a Victory forum, tried it and it worked; Enginer light is off, now. Apparently, low voltage can cause it to lose calibration with Throttle Position Sensor:
I found this info on how to do a manual TPS reset:
Key on, switch on, engine off
Slow 5 count rotate throttle from closed to wide open
Hold throttle wide open for slow 5 count
Let throttle SNAP shut/closed
Cycle kill switch (off then on)
Start bike, and enjoy the ride
