Computer doesn't connect with the walkman

After trying to open the guide book while connected to the computer the files stored on walkman are not visible in Windows explorer. Also the program that allows dragging and dropping files onto the Walkman no longer pops up. How can I reset it or download new operating files?

There should be a small reset button on the back of the unit. You'll have to push and hold it for about 5 - 10 seconds in order to reset it.
If it still doesn't work, you can read the solution posted at WarMaiden.org and see if that will solve your problem of not being able to see it in Windows Explorer.

How to fix barbie girl on computer

"fix" implies it's broken.

To replace the broken version:
1. Connect your walkman to your computer. (if you're connected to the Internet, drivers should be installed automatically).
2. Open a window to view the mp3 files stored in your walkman.
3. Find the broken file, delete it and replace it with a working version.

If you meant "fix" as in "edit":
steps 1 & 2 are the same
3. Edit the file using audio editing software (such as AVS Audio Editor), then re-save the file.

Dropped two days ago, seemed fine. all of a sudden started freaking out. screen looks like TV static, then freezes on start up screen.

Hi,

I suggest you to backup all the songs in the Walkman Player to the Computer and Format the Player.

Connect the Player to the Computer to charge it until FULL message is displayed.

Reset the Walkman Player. To reset it by pressing the RESET button with a small pin or similar object. You can also Format the Player if the Format option is available by accessing the Home Menu.

To Format the Player; press and hold the BACK/HOME button, select Settings-->Common Settings-->Format-->YES.

WARNING: There is a risk of data loss. If the memory is formatted, all files including the Operation Guide (If applicable to your model) stored in the player will be deleted. Be sure to verify the files stored in memory prior to formatting and export necessary files to the hard disk of your computer or other device.

Once the Format completes, reset the Player by pressing the Reset button located at the bottom of the Player using a sharp pointed object. Now you can transfer the required songs and files to the Player using the supplied Software or by dragging and dropping the songs through Windows Explorer. This will resolve the issue.

Good Luck!

How do i add photos to my nwz-e344

Hi,

Connect the Sony Walkman NWZ-E344 (8 GB) Digital Media player to your computer using the device's USB sync cable. Wait until your computer detects the MP3 player.

Click the "Start" icon in the taskbar. Click "My Computer."

Double-click "Removable Disk." This will open the root storage directory of your MP3 player, which is where all its files are stored. Locate the "Photos" folder inside this directory.

Drag-and-drop pictures from your computer into the Sony Walkman NWZ-E344 (8 GB) Digital Media player Photos folder: Click on a picture file and hold down the mouse button while moving the file to the Photos folder, then release the mouse button to copy the picture to the folder. You can now view these pictures on your Sony Walkman NWZ-E344 (8 GB) Digital Media player.

If your Sony Walkman NWZ-E344 (8 GB) Digital Media player does not support photo viewing, you can still add pictures to the device. Drag-and-drop the pictures anywhere within the root storage directory. You can transfer the pictures to another computer or any USB-compatible device.

Good luck.

My mp3 can be connected to mu pc and play all the music that it's stored there. but when I want to listen using my earphones there is nothing coming out (songs). I just fully charged... what could be the...

1. Check whether the file format of the audio file you are trying to play in the Walkman is supported by the Walkman.
You can check the supported file formats in the manual of the Walkman under "Specifications".

2. Check whether the issue occurs with all the audio files. If you are not able to play the file which you were able to play in past, then it must be the issue with the Walkman.

Then you may reset the Walkman to check whether the issue is resolved.
Press the RESET button located at the bottom of the Walkman to reset it.
You may also try Formatting (USE FORMAT OPTION IN WALKMAN) the Walkman and re-transfer the audio files to the Walkman to check whether the issue is resolved.
NOTE: Never format the Walkman in the Computer as it will delete all the Supporting files in the memory of the Walkman.

You may also try transferring the audio files using the supplied Software like Content Transfer, WMP 11 and SonicStage.

Problem connecting walkman to computer

Once you have added files in one mode, those files cant be changed in the other. Solve your MP3 Player Connection Problem.
See my tip posted here about this problem. Now Sony has 2 programs on their site for the walkman. One is called "Content Transfer" the other is called "Media Manager for Walkman" Check out these programs see if they help. Lastly, on the back of the player Is a small hole the tip of a paper clip will fit into to reset the player, try that if all else fails.

Files in walkman are getting erased when i connect it to computer

Hi saileela,

This won't help you recover your lost files but it will keep it from happening again. I had the same problem myself and called Sony helpdesk. This is what he told me to do (and it worked).

Connect your Walkman to your computer. Open Windows Media Player. The sync tab has a little drop-down tab, click that and one of the options will be WALKMAN in all caps. Mouse over that and you will get another menu. Click "Set Up Sync" and it will open a box.

On the upper lefthand side of that box is a walkman logo. Underneath that is a checked box next to "Sync this device automatically." UNCHECK that box. Problem solved from here on out.

Mp3

if it doesn't sync, don't worry just open the folder where the music files are stored on your computer, connect your Sony Walkman to your computer and highlight the music files you want to add to the Walkman and select (copy these files) a windows will open for you to select the place you want to copy to, select your mp3 player and click on copy to copy the selected music to your Walkman

NOTE: if you Sony Walkman has a specific folder for music files, you need to move the songs you copied from your hard drive's music folder to the music folder on your mp3 player for the player to recognize the songs in order to play.
