To use it again press those keys to enable..if it does not work ..just go to device manager ..and click on the pad ..and enable it (click right )
to get there click on my computer icon (right ) ..and select properties and in there select hardware and device manager ..
In the list you will find the pad under user interface devices..
If it appears in yellow and have a exclamation sign on it ..it means it has no driver installed and you need to run the driver again ..I would run the driver anyway cause this operation will also enable it ..and it may be much easier for you ..

How to enable touchpad on Toshiba Satellite L850?

Locate the "Fn" key in the lower right or left corner of the laptop keyboard.

The "Fn" key typically has different colored text on it or the key itself is a different color.

Locate the function (F1 through F12) key at the top of the keyboard that disables or enables the touchpad on the laptop.

The key typically has an icon that resembles a touchpad with a finger touching it or a touchpad with a diagonal line through it.

Press both the "Fn" and touchpad Function key simultaneously to reactive the touchpad on your laptop.

Move your finger along the touchpad to verify that it works.

Press the combination at any time to disable the touchpad again.

hope this helps

For most Toshiba laptops, you should be able to hit FN+F9, and it will disable the touch pad. If that doesn't work, go to your Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, Mouse, and disable it there. Hope this helps!

Touchpad not funjctioning on Toshiba Satellite L40/45 laptop

You might have inadvertedly disabled the touchpad.

1. Press Fn + F9 to enable the touchpad.
This key combination acts as a switch, enabling or disabling the touchpad: press once to enable (if it is disabled), then press again to disable.

2. If the touchpad still doesn't respond, check the settings in the mouse control utility.
Click on the touchpad icon on the right side of the task bar if you see one or click Start button/Settings/Control Panel, select the Mouse icon and Press Enter.
Change the settings if necessary.
