Help needed to replace water valve & control board

Called LG because water was leaking from the back and found out I had a bad water valve (Metal connection Selenoid), they referred me to an appliance repair company and replaced the water valve. Right after installing the new water valve the front control board/panel goes bad and the dispenser & light quit working also the light inside the freezer. He quits working on it and tells me I have a bad Control board & water valve. Is this something i could be fixing on my own since I think he made it worst? Like a service manual on how to replace the control board and water valve. I have the parts number but i can't find it online: Door: #6871JB1391B Main: #6871JB1410B.
PLEASE HELP!!

SOURCE: Water tank inside fridge for water dispenser leaking

peah, I had a couple of these tanks leak. I think they had an issue with this. The last one I had they had a kit where the substitued coiled tubing with 2 john guest fittings to replace the tank. This solved the problem. The part number I have for the tank is 4838jj1003a, you can get it at http://www3.sears.com/ for 17.95. I don't know if they will send you the tank or kit. You can inquire. SOURCE: Faulty ice maker

Hello. Yes, that is the correct position for the icemaker feeler arm. The updated icemaker has a longer feeler arm that hangs down a little more (thereby shutting off sooner when the ice piles up not so high).

Your water leak onto your food is from water spilling out of the front left corner of the ice tray during fill. This has also been updated with a plastic lip that keeps the water from sloshing out when filling up.

The photo shows that your ice tray appears to be unlevel and drooping in the front left corner. This happens with flex tray icemakers over time. The icetray does not fully flex back to its level posiiton. I do not feel you need to replace the entire icemaker. Repalcing just the ice tray should fix your issue.

Hope this helps, please rate my solution.

SOURCE: Error Message: Er dH

The error codes are listed in the service manual (p. 32) at the address below:
LFX25960 Service Manual

"Er dH" seems to be a defroster issue.

SOURCE: LG GR-292R freezer works/fridge does not.

It is more than likely short of refrigerant, needs to have the leak repaired and then recharge refrigerant.

SOURCE: LG ice maker only dispenses crushed ice not whole cubes

Very problematic issue with this model .Try unplugging and plugging the fridgerator which resets the board. The board is located on top under a removeable panel where the power cord enters....there is a reset/diagnostic button on the board itself.Contact LGUSA.com for any possible warranty and complain like crazy to avoid spending $300 on this board which can be purchased from andrewselectronics.com who is a factory authorized parts provider.Keeping that ice maker going will make you pull your hair out which is unfortuante for such a stylish and expensive fridge.good luck

I have an lg dishwasher that showed an ie error so I fitted a new inlet valve It now shows an FE code?

The drain pump automatically runs when the FE code is displayed. A leaking water inlet valve or a stuck relay on the electronic control board can allow water to fill the dishwasher constantly. To check for a leaky water inlet valve, unplug the dishwasher and see if the tub continues to fill with water. If it does, shut off the water supply and replace the water inlet valve because the valve is letting water to flow into the dishwasher constantly. If water stops filling when you unplug the dishwasher, then you'll likely need to replace the electronic control board because the control board is constantly sending current to the water inlet valve

What is a error 50 on a GW709NZ fisher and paykel washing machine

Error 50 Hot water inlet valve fault. Control board monitors the circuit through the valve back to the board. If it gets a bad reading it flags that error. Error 49 for the cold valve. It can be caused by a bad valve. Bad wiring connection (corrosion on plug) or fault on the control board. Most times unfortunately it is the control board that is faulty. You need someone to come & test & find which part needs replacing.

Does not dispense ice or water

Check to make sure you have sufficient water flow through the supply line. If water flow is good then listen closely to the solenoid valve when the water dispenser is actuated. If there is no click the solenoid probably needs to be replaced.

Why won't ice tray filling stop?

Michael, I suspect that the water solenoid valve needs replacement--that symptom usually causes either a slow leak and an overflowing ice cube tray or no water flow at all. To test the solenoid valve, slide your refrigerator out and view the back cover. There should be a double solenoid valve down near the bottom back of your refrigerator, one solenoid valve for the water serve spout on the front of the freezer door, and the other solenoid valve for the ice maker. I'd swap the clear plastic lines (to the door water spicket and the icemaker, put a plastic cup under the door water spicket and check in a few minutes for water leaking into your cup--if it does leak into the cup, you've found the problem! There are seval excellent videos on the web covering how to replace the valve, see: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/lg-water-inlet-valve-5221ja2006d-ap4445614.html

That solenoid is controlled by a cam driven switch built into the ice maker motor assembly which can occasionally go bad and need replacement or adjustment, but my experience points to a leaking dirt plugged-open water solenoid valve. Replacment solenoid valves are easy to replace at a cost ranging from $20 to $78 with free shipping to your doorstep--check ebay!

Ice maker stopped working

run service test with volt meter hooked up to the two terminals on water valve if you get a 110 volts to water valve when it is called for and water valve dose not open then the valve is bad. make sure the water valve screen in the end of it is not stopped up.

I have a LG Dishwasher LDF 7811ST with a IE Code Failure after two minutes. I have replaced the Sensor on the side and the flow switch and checked the water inlet filter and still have the code. The next...

IE error usually means the inle valve has failed,However you might want to try a different hose because there is a valve in the lg hoses is you have a grey hose with a chunky bit at the tap end there is a valve inside the hose that often fails.often these guys come back with the motherboard & it doesn't solve the problem.Try ebay for the board they aren't that expensive he has doubled the price of the motherboard anyway.
