Try a few charge/discharge recharge cycles to see if you get an improvement. If negative, then replace since it is bogus.

HI Cws666, try to charge your computer for a full 3 - 5 hours without interruptingit, than try again.
If that doesn't work, try buying a new battery.
If that doesn't work send it to computer's brand labs.

thats a good bet but you can try and put the battery in a freezer for 15 minutes let it warm back up and try again.

The blinking battery light indicates the battery has an internal short which is preventing it from charging. The problem usually goes back to the charge monitor circuit in the battery. There is a thermal fuse that blows if the battery pack gets to hot during a charging cycle to prevent the battery from exploding like to hear about on the internet from time to time. After the fuse blows the only thing to do is get a replacement battery pack.

This means that your battery is dead. Sometimes a battery will show up as charged in Windows when in fact it is as dead as can be.

This is an indication that the battery pack has shorted out and is not functioning. The batteries in laptops have a thermal fuse inside that blows if the pack gets to hot to prevent exploding. When the battery cells die sometimes they will short out and pull to much current, this causes them to quickly overheat. The fuse blows and the battery cools down but is dead because of the shorted battery cell. The laptop can see a battery but can't charge it because of the blown cell and fuse. Its time to replace it.

If it is under warranty, return the battery pack. If not, you can try to discharge the pack as much as you can, and then recharge it. Most packs are made up of several smaller batteries. When you don't discharge the battery pack all the way, some batteries have more charge than others, and will stop the charger when THEY get full, leaving the others 'starved'. Finally the others only have the 10 minutes charge you are seeing. You will likely not be able to get the 'better' batteries discharged enough, and will have to buy a new battery pack.

It is a hard item to find....I cannot find any retail loacations that are selling it , but I did find a couple of them on eBay
