Hi,
As computer recognizes the camera but there is no pictures in the camera , To resolve it, visit this link and download both the software mentioned in Window XP section.
Good Luck...don't forget to rate the solution.
1) Run your picture project program under XP SP 2 'compatibilty mode'.
2) Run the picture project program in XP mode if your computer and version of Windows 7 allows it (eg. Professional or Ultimate versions but your computer processor will need to support 'hardware virtualization).
3) Run the program in a Virtual machine with XP installed: I would use Sun VirtualBox which is free and does not need hardware virtualisation (unlike windows 7 'native' XP mode or VPC2007).
As you can see, you do have some options to overcome Windows 7 shortcomings! Hope it helps.
It would appear that DMC-FZ18 cannot reliably communicate with Windows XP. However if SD card is removed from camera and connected directly to computer there is no problem.
Down load a software program that will bring the computer to recognize the camera.Or...go to control panel and click the scanners & cameras icon. Now look to the left side of screen and open select imaging device.Follow the prompts from there. Please Rate this ! Thanx!!!!!
