AAccording to the user manual index, there should be 16 pages. You are only showing 13 pages. The page that I need right now (How to check for blockages) is page 14 and I cannot find it anywhere

Dco7 won't start

My dco7 keeps overheating and switching itself off...Any ideas wot could be causing this??

Yes. There's a blockage somewhere which is restricting the airflow. Follow instructions in the User Manual (you can download one from the Dyson website if necessary) for clearing blockages. Also make sure the washable filter is clean (and don't put it back until it's completely dry - at least 24 hours in a warm place). Good luck!
