It seems like ALOT uses spyware/adware/malware to take control over your homepage.
First remove any ALOT related software through Add/Remove Programs (on Windows XP) or Programs and Features (on Windows Vista/7).
Next - download, install and run SUPERAntiSpyware to clean your computer of any spyware and malware software. When don, go to Internet Options and manually set your desired homepage.

Good luck,
Pelu.

I would like my page to be a yahoo page only

How to set your homepage depends alot on which browser you are using. In Firefox first make sure you are on the yahoo page in your browser and only have that one tab open (If you use tabs) If you have your menu displayed you go to Tools, Options. If you have the orange firefox text in the upper left corner of your browser click that then go to ,Options, Options.
Both of these will get you to your options menu. Click the General tab then select the Use Current Page button below the address of the homepage.

    In Chrome:
There is a button with three lines in the upper right corner of the browser Just under the Close X in windows. Click that and it will bring up a menu . Select settings and that will open a new page in your browser. You will see a line of text saying On Startup with three selections below it. Choose Open a specific page or set of pages then a click able link Set Pages Click that link and you will open a dialog box where you can add new pages, delete the current pages or change the pages that open. Delete pages you don't want and type the yahoo address into the first slot.

    Torch:
This is exactly the same as Chrome.
I don;t have the settings for IE because I will not allow it on my computer.

I wish to keep the yahoo account but I don't want it to show on my home page. Can this be accomplished?

    Hi,

When you say homepage I assume you don't want to load yahoo site whenever you open a web browser. TO change your web homepage you need to go to the following:

for Firefox 6.01. (Most likely all firefox ver. are similar)

    - Click tools
    - Click Options
    - Go to General TAB
    - type the website you want to be on your homepage at HOME PAGE box or Start page for other version

For Internet explorer 8 (other version are similar but not identical. Just look for tools)
    - Click tools
    - Click Internet Options
    - Go to General TAB
    - type the website you want to be on your homepage at HOME PAGE box or Start page for other version

    For Google Chrome
    - Click the wrench icon on the top right side
    - Click options
    - Click Basics
    - At the HOMEPAGE section type in the website you want to load

Basically thats all. Please note browsers has different version but always look for the tools menu

From start screen,we want i/explorer,but it keeps going to 'yahoo'. We don't want yahoo! Where are we going wrong?

    1. You need to change your Home Page. Decide what you want for a home page, e.x. google.com, msn.com, bing.com, pcrepairshop.org, etc.
    2. Open up your Start Menu, followed by opening your Control Panel.
    3. Find the Internet Option Control Panel and open it.
    4. Type in your desired home page in the Home Page box of the Internet Properties window.
    5. Click Apply and OK. Open a new instance of Internet Explorer to see your Home Page.

Can not get rid of alot home page and i canot install yahoo home page

Would be nice to know your operating system, but, here goes. The router doesn't keep the "home page" It's in your internet explorer. Open up internet explorer and go to Yahoo's home page you want to make as your new home-page. Click on the TOOLS tab at the top. Scroll down to INTERNET OPTIONS and the big block will open up. Since your already on Yahoo's page you want to save, just click on "Use Current" to save the present page. Next time you open up Internet Explorer, your page will pop up. Easier done than said I'll bet.
