Aquastar 125X We live in Carthage, NC and have a 10-year-old Aquastar 125X that works sporadically. We ordered an electric valve 8708501 249 to repair it but, when installed, it wouldn't work at all so we put the original part back in. Are there any repair men qualified to work on this heater who could help us? We couldn't find anyone around here.

You have to fix this leak around the water valve before
it causes damage to your equipment.
1. Close the water supply valve going to your tankless
water heater.
2. Unplug or close the natural gas valve.
3. Now, you can work fixing the leak.
4. Once completed, you can proceed to open the
natural gas valve as well as the water supply valve.
5. Then, have it tested to get it done.

The pilot light can be blown out just by the main gas being ignited especially if the pilot flame is a little weak. Some times a bit of grit gets into the pilot nozzle reducing the flow and hence a weak flame. Try cleaning the piolt jet nozzle with a fine piece of wire. You may have to dismantle the jet nozzle to clean it properly.

The gas valve makes a single click sound when the pilostat shuts off. That is a safety holding coil for units with standing pilot lights and closes if it thinks the pilot went out. In electronic ignition, the same holds true except the sensor is electronic.
