Setting the Ring Time
Ring Time allows you to set the number of rings the caller hears before your
answering system plays the outgoing message. You can set the ring time to answer
after two, four, or six rings. If you enable the Toll Saver (TS), the answering system
picks up after two rings if you have new messages and after four rings if there are
none.
1) Enter the Answ. Setup menu, and then the Ring Time
submenu (see "Entering the Menu Option" on
page 16).
2) Press volume up/down to select a Ring Time (Toll
Saver, 2 Times, 4 Times, or 6 Times).
3) Press the OK soft key. You will hear a confirmation tone.
Toll saver is a feature where you can call the phone yourself, if there are messages it wil answer in 2 rings, if not it'll answer in 4 rings. The idea is to hang up on the 3rd ring and save the LD changes.

Poking around on the Interweb I find this is also known as a model 6510. I couldn't find anyplace to download a copy for free but there are a number of sites where it's available for purchase. This place is one; if you're outside the US you can search for a different vendor.

I have contacted Verizon tech support for this issue. They say it depends on where you are (what towers are responding to your incoming call) and can not be changed. I told them that Cingular could entend the ring time, not number of rings. The rude customer-no-service person told me "well, you need to go to Cingular-now AT&T". We will see what type of response I get from the letter I wrote to the President of Verizon.
As far as changing the # of rings, that may be your phone company. Feature 983 will get you in to change to number of rings. It goes as follows:
Feature 983
System coordinator mailbox # and password
OK
AA
Lines
Enter Line Number
OK
Table
Rings
CHNG
Enter the desired number of rings
If after changing the number of rings the Auto atendant does not pick up at all, You have to call your phone company and set up the second delay through them. We had the same problem here.

To have a standard greeting with your number press 1, to have one with your name press 2, and to make your own press 3. Hope this helped.
