Forgot passphrase How do I find out what my passphrase since I lost the paper I wrote it on. I just bought another laptop and I cannot access the wireless internet without the passphrase.

Which email service? Is there a "Forgot your password?" or "Can't access your account?" or some such link on the sign-in page?

Welcome to Fixya. If you forgot the code or the Network Key (Passphrase) we can access the Wireless Settings Page of the router to obtain the information needed to connect your iphone.

To access the router page you need a working computer that is connected to the router. To access your router you need to use a computer that is connected to it. Open a Browser then type 192.168.0.1 or http://routerlogin.net. The Default username is admin and the password is password. Password is case sensitive.

Go to the Wireless Tab select Wireless Security under the Security Mode you will see there Network Key or Passphrase. The Network Key serves as a password or security code on your network to make it secure. Network Key is case sensitive.

You can check the passphrase when you access the router page:

• Open a Web browser and type http://gateway.2wire.net or http://192.168.1.254; the 2Wire Home page opens.
• Click the Home Networking tab at the top of the 2Wire Home page.
• Click on Wireless Settings. then click EDIT SETTINGS located on the right panel.
• Here you will be able to fine the setting for your wireless connection
• You can change the SSID, Wireless Channel, Wireless Security, and Network Key
• If the Wireless Security Key uses the default, the Passphrase is the 10 digits located underneath the router under the S/N.

Look on the back of the router. There should be a small hole or button labeled "Reset," push this button with a small object such as a paper clip.

NOTE: This will reset all of the settings on the router.

Since you forgot the security ket for the wireless network you need to access the router setup page using the a computer that is working fine with the router,
On the internet exploreer address bar of the working computer type in 192.168.1.1 , then that should be asking you for a username and password, just leave the username blank and password is admin. If tha admin password didn't work try typing your commonly use password.
If you're already on the setup page of the router, Just go to wireless tab then there's a wireless security sub tab there where you can find the security key that you need...
