2003 mitsubishi tv model 65813. where is the lamp? the tv shuts off randomly, green light stays on. friends say replace the lamp witch i havnt had to do yet. any help would be appreciated.

Have you ever replaced lamp? I would replace lamp with an OEM mitsubishi lamp assy and re-intialize set in service menu. That should fix it

Lamp lifetime is not 100% predictable. A lamp may fail without notice, although this is not usually the case. The picture is more likely to become noticeably dimmer as the lamp nears the end of its lifetime.

While there is nothing wrong with using a lamp until it fails, some customers may want to purchase a new lamp and replace the existing one when they notice that it is aging.

If the lamp fails in a Mitsubishi MicroDisplay TV, there will be no picture on the screen and a red front panel LED indicator will illuminate.

the lamp is simple; yet you can run into problems with this tv. be very careful replacing lamp. the plug in the tv can be damaged. (due to the design)
