Sony kp-46v25 blinks 30+ times or once, no picture/no sound, then shuts off
tv is more than 4 years old, worked well until it just went black as i was watching tv. no picture/no sound (not even the channel # showing) when i turn it on. it blinks for 30+ times, then shuts off. after that, it'll blink once, then shuts off. i've waited 12 hours and nothing has improved. i appreciate all your help! can this be a quick fix or do i need to invest in a new $ tv. this is a big rear video projector tv and it's hard to move.

Sounds like a problem in the stand by power supply as the Set is not blinking any code indicating its in protective shut down. I would assume its one of the low voltage regulators that has shorted. You would need a service manual to actually troubleshoot the start up and stanby voltages. Let me know if you would like a link where to purchase the manual. I will post a link that provide free tech assistance to help diagnose and repair your set when you get a manual.
