You can fit a rcd proecter inside at the nearest point before the cabling goes outside is best. Also I would recomend using armered cable so it doesn't get damaged if dug up.

I have a Toshiba tv and have moved to Belgium and now the tv won't turn on. I have tried the fuse but it still doesn't work. Any suggestions

If you moved from North America, Japan or any other country where the AC power from the wall socket was in the 100-120V range, and you have now plugged it into a European wall socket (220-230V), if you are lucky, the fuse on the TV would have blown to protect the TV from over-voltage damage. If you are less fortunate, the power supply of the TV is now shot, and you'll have to send it for service and a new power supply (for European use (220-230V)).

Find out why my freezer is shorting

Is your FREEZER is plugged into a wall socket which is protected by an EARTH LEAKAGE UNIT or RCD [Residual Current Device] ???
Most manufacturers advise NOT to have this type of appliance connected through an RCD as the start load required when the COMPRESSOR "kicks in" is quite large [especially in larger fridge/freezer units] AND will quite often TRIP your RCD. These appliances are better connected to a separate electrical circuit if at all possible and not protected by an RCD.

My house fuse box is fitted with a master RCD. A feed off a lounge socket goes threw the wall and feeds an external weather proof RCD box which when switched supplies my garden lights. If a garden light...

Appears the main box RCD is just as fast as the secondary RCD and it sensed the same fault that triggered the outside unit and it didn't wait around to see if that outside unit did the job.

Leaking jacuzzi jet

The workings of a bath jet...From the inside of the Bath there is a wall fitting that threads from the inside of the tub into the jet body located on the outside wall of the tub.
If the jet is leaking at this point behind the tub then you should take the wall fitting out of the tub and put a small bead of 100% RTV silicone around the flange of the wall fitting and reinstall it.
If however, the leak is from the PVC piping going into the jet then you will need to replace the jet.

I don't know how to fit a gme psk08 power supply and power injector from the wall socket to the tv. Everything works out except the plug in to the amplifier

You can easily get the support connection pin socket to match the RF input to the TV as it will be best to get the ampifier to the nearest spares store so as to find the mating pin.

Hi I have a jacuzzi. I would like to connect it DIY

You can get 2 types of Jacuzzi baths, 1 with just a pump which just jets the water via a small pump or 1 with the pump and elements that heats the water aswell as pumps the water through the jets. Because the 1 with the elements has a higher amp rating you need to run a cable from your distribution board to your bath but the 1 without the elements you will be able to tap off the nearest socket to the bath, you will be coming from your socket to a fused spur outlet, it would be better to get a switched fused spur outlet as you will be able to isolate the bath when not in use just by switching off the switch. from the spur outlet you will be wiring it into your motor on the bath, it should say the rating of the pump in amps on the tally plate of the motor or on the manual. For example if it says the motor draws 2 amps you will be putting a 3 amp fuse into your spur outlet so if there is a fault with the motor the fuse will blow instead of tripping the whole socket circuit. All jucuzzi baths has to be connected to the RCD side of your distribution board. If you are tapping off a socket don't worry about the RCD because all sockets should be on the RCD anyway, to check that the socket is connected to the RCD plug something into the socket you are tapping off of and press the test button on the RCD, the RCD should trip and while this is tripped check the lamp or whatever you plugged in shoud be off. The Fused spur should be fitted outside of the bathroom.

What is the purpose of a circlip and if it were to break would it cause a grinding sound

A circlip is basically a circular clip. There are two types, inside and outside. An outside circlip fits in a slot cut into the outside of a shaft. An inside circlip fits into a slot cut on the inside wall of a cylinder. Both types are "C" shaped with a small hole in each end of the opening. A special tool called a circlip remover has tiny hardened points that fit into the holes to either expand or contract the circlip for removal/installation. In engines I have seen circlip failures on the piston pin inside an engine to allow the piston pin to move. It could possibly let the piston scrape the inner cylinder wall and cause a grinding noise or worse. If not repaired, I doubt the engine will continue operating for long. Did they find a circlip in your oil after draining the oil?

Ok i neeed help!!!!!!!! on my power supply there is a switch which you can move to 115 volts to 230 volts. everytime i switch it to 230 volts the computer wont turn on? why is this happening? when i put it...

This is the power supply for your PC, depend on your local country power supply, some country like North US may use 110 V in their daily use electrical stuff and some country like Euro, UK use 240 V.

Your PC power supply is design to suit this 2 type of power input so can be sold everywhere. What u need to do is to make sure your local country power supply voltage and then just switch the input correctly, i think u have done it.

I own an Amana Heavy Duty dryer, model # NDE880AYW, and I'm trying to change a three prong cord for a four prong cord. I know nothing about electricals so I need help at a very elementary level. I have...

First off. Do any and all electrical connections with the PLUG detached from the wall receptacle.. The Green Wire is earth ground and should be connected to the nearest Chassis or Frame terminal.. There should be one near the terminal block for the two power ( red & black) and one neutral ( white).. It's OK to double up the green wire with other green wires.. so your answer is YES.. connect it to the nearest Green wire terminal.. This green wire provides protection to you and anyone else from getting electrocuted by bonding the frame/chassis as well as other sheet metal parts to earth ground.. Hope that helps...
