I have an Audiovox SIRPNP2 receiver that I purchased a lifetime subscription for about 8 years ago. The receiver still works but I can't get it to work reliably with the SIRCK-1 vehicle cradle. I still get the display which shows that I'm receiving signal and I can change channels but get no audio reliably. Sometimes I can get it to work by squeezing the cradle and receiver together but as soon as I let it go it quits. I do get a signal carrier on the frequency I choose but nothing else. Any suggestions??? Would another cradle cure the problem? I hate to put out more money on it but then I feel I'm missing out on the programing I've already paid for and can't use. I am a techie type so am not afraid to try anything, including taking it apart etc. Thanks for any help you can give me. Dennis

Sounds to me like the display went bad on you. I'm not too sure your those though.

I had the exact same problem with Sirius radios. I bought two Kenwood DTS-7000S receivers and both were sent back for warranty. Of the two, they only fixed one but by the time I figured out the other was bad, it was out of warranty. Kenwood, along with the repair community state they do fix such units, they toss them out. The thing that gets hot hot hot is the part that receives the Sirius antenna inside your unit. If you're like me and have nothing to lose then I recommend doing some cutting with a dremel and adding a small computer fan. It just takes a light breeze to keep that part cool enough (but it does take some sort of breeze, convection is out). For a home unit, find an old A/C power supply and match it to an old computer fan of equal or less voltage. For car, find a fan that uses 12 volts or less. It's an easy fix, really!

call up Sirius and see if they have any manuals for that model to see if they can unlock it for ya or just have Sirius erase the reciever and start fresh by them reseting Hope this helps

The tuner is bad. The antenna miniport on your tuner has either a broken or cold solder joint and therefore will not receive. If it's under warranty, they will replace it, if not, you can buy the tuner re-built on Ebay for around 50.00 and is better than new. Hope this helps

Check your copper pin cylinder on the back of the receiver that goes into the cradle. The metal cylinder surrounding the copper pin can shave off or crack, causing these problems. If you can put your hands on another unit, you can replace this area with the parts unit. Unscrew the two screws holding the unit together and then slowly pry the unit apart, inserting a very thin blade and moving it slowly around the frame. Once inside, you will see screws holding down the area with the copper pins. You can remove this and put it in your receiver.
