Can I replace the latch or change the full internal chamber?

this part is available with Nikon agency, to replace this you have to open the whole camera, then detach the front portion, it doesn't matter, just a piece of rubber or sponge fix on the battery lid, this will be help full to hold the battery at contact perfectly.
Same problem-- Battery Compartment latch is broken- Haven't found a good solution yet.... except Ductape! UGH!
little tab for door lock is broken off. I do not like duct tape either. I used some regular tape and then stuck a flat head thumb take through the tape into the catch mechanism on the camera body. It works just fine. Eventually I will use some melted plastic or fiberglass to rebuild that broken latch tab.
I'm using rubber bands to hold the battery door shut!
