If you are looking for the serial number to send in for a rebate, it's just to the right of the square cutout and it's between the two asterisks. mine is 6 digits. You have to cut that out and send it in with the form and everything else they ask for. I just called Tamron to get the correct answer as the picture they give you is confusing.

Where would I find the serial number on a Tamron 90mm Canon macro lens?

all of my Tamron lenses have the serial number on the barrel of the lens right next to the "Made in Japan" label. When the lens is in the camera the MIJ label is on the bottom side. I hope that helps with your lens

Tamrom 80 - 210mm f3.8 - 4 Canon FD Mount Zoom lens

Simple idea? Dont go to F32..just stay at F22 and increase the camera speed one stop.
A little test will give you right calibration

"I also purchased a Fotodiox Lens Mount Adapter, Tamron Adaptall II Lens to Nikon Camera. The Tamron lens still will not fit

What mount do you have on the Tamron lens? (The built-in mount.) If it has a Nikon mount, you don't need an adapter at all. If it has the Adaptall mount then the adapter should fit onto the back of the lens, then the combo should fit onto your Nikon camera. If the lens has a different mount then nothing you can do will make it fit.

Does the adapter fit onto the lens?

I own a Tamron 200-500 Nikon fit lens. It is coming up with f EE fault. Can you help please.

Turn the aperture ring to its smallest setting (largest f/number) and lock it. You can control the aperture from the camera body, the same way you control it on a lens without an aperture ring.

I cant seem to get the lens to fous on anything within 3 feet when in macro.. am i doing something wrong?

Actually you are doing really well cause the Tamron specifications for that lens is 1.5m translated into real numbers that's 4.92 feet. If you want some serious macro let me suggest the Canon 100mm F2.5 Macro lens it's not all that bad for price unless you get the IS version then it's out of the park well sort of. Most of my macro work is done on a tripod anyway so the IS is a waist for me.

Here is a review on that lens.

Also is you are using the APS size sensor there is a focal factor of 1.6 so the 100mm lens just grew to 180mm and twice as fast as your Tamron. Cheers

Try gently cleaning the electronic contacts on the lens's mount with an eraser. This will remove any mild oxidation on the contacts. If this doesn't resolve the problem, then contact Tamron and ask if there are any issues using this particular lens with a Canon 40D.

Will not autofocus

Hey shutterbug72,
According to the manufacturer the first thing you should try is cleaning the lens contacts with an eraser. If that doesn't work you could try removing the battery and reinserting it to reset the camera. It seems to me that if there was a compatibility issue going on you should have seen that from the start. As far as what lens you should buy both Tamron and Canon make very good lenses, but with Canon lenses you shouldn't ever have compatibility issues. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan
