Hi i have a 20hp 1973 johnsons that seems to run fine but then will just cut out after 5mins use can anyone help does this sound like a fuel problem if so how can i solve it

Have you checked the fuel bowl for contaninants? Fuel pressure could also be weak or have a possible blockage. Spark plugs ok or replaced? Comment back with results, thanks.

I have what sounds like the same prob on my 1986 R80

This is a classic sign of vapor lock. Older BMW's are notorious for this. Purge the fuel lines & make sure that the choke is not sticking.

are you positive that all the fuel lines are good.and the primer ball is good? i have had a problem also like that and it turned out that there was some dry rot in the line that would make it **** air.this may be your problem...
