I have a problem with the MQ-35 pump starting and running for about 10 minutes when there is constant demand (such as running a sprinkler) and it then alarms and shuts off for 30 minutes before it will run again. I have checked the air pressure in the air tank and it's ok. The voltage seems ok and it's not hot or running out of water. The water is supplied from a water holding tank and it has plenty of water when the problem occurs. This is a new pump so this is not an age-related issue. The seller, "fresh water systems" says to call Grundfos but I can't find an 800 number (or any phone number) for technical support. The Grundfos web site says contact your distributor for support. "fresh water systems" says contact Grundfos for support. Any ideas?

This sounds like a issue with air still being in the system and not being removed from the system to make things work properly. I did try to findthere number and was unable to locate it. The only other option for you is to return the product and find one with better support

did you get a better answer than this? Like 'where is the air coming from?" so you can do something about it. This is my problem as well and it may be because of air sucking into the suction (low pressure side) line from the tank - faulty couplings? low water in tank or non return valve not sealing? Any suggestions?

Just installed a MQ 3 -35 in my home in order to improve low city supplied water pressure (35psi). Now my home pressure is at 75 to 80 psi, too high. How can I regulate the pressure down to 55-60 ps

proper way is to install a water pressure regulator and due to potability reasons it needs to be brass ,bronze, stainless steel, or CPVC plastic , (no steel or cast metal) of course the less high tech way is to plumb a valve from pump outlet back to its inlet and adjust valve to max pressure setting you want at max demand , I don't recommend this method as it wont be able to give you a constant pressure regardless of demand as the first method will , Note: some water regulators are a "relieving" type and require special install methods and maybe three lines to it

It sounds to me like you have a defective thermal switch that is shutting power off as if motor is overheating.Unless you are exceding the head or flow ratings on the pump I would recommend you return it for replacement.Thank you.

With the water running the MQ pump runs intermittently

This is a problem with your bladder in the pressure tank or the pressure switch. Ether one will produce this cycling on and off. Good luck.

I have the same problem and have found that the inlet check valve has a broken shaft in the center of device. It is a multi-piece plastic unit and it looks as if it is not quite seating and therefore the internal pressure leaks slowly back into my low pressure suction line. The pump will start and the pressure will build then shut off for about 30 minutes then cycle again. I am going to replace the check valve.
