My GE fridge light bulb is blown, and I can't get the bulb out. Short of shattering the glass, how can I get the bulb out?
Simple, use a hair dryer (on high heat) on the base of the bulb for a few seconds. The bulb will come out easy. Cold expands and is what made it stick. This has worked every time for me.
My Amana had two stuck light bulbs in the refrigerator section. Using a soft rubber jar top remover I was able to get them out but it took many tries. Wiggling them seemed to help free it up too. I tried a hard rubber jar top remover first but it was abit too stiff to get as much of a grip as the soft one. If you don't have soft rubber top remover, something like very soft leather - the rougher side - may work. As other say - turn off breaker to keep power off in case you break the bulb.
Don't forget to put a box or something underneath to catch the pieces of glass as they shatter.
Use a soft rubber glove. the worst thing that could happen is the bulb breaks, then use pliers to remove the base. MAKE SURE YOU UNPLUG THE UNIT FIRST!

Yes I cannot get mine out either - its in there good - does it screw out? Push and turn? suggesting to wear a rubber glove does not really tell how to remove the bulb...
