I have a problem in getting rid of the replace lamp message and to reset the lamp timer, however i do have the remote but there seem to be no option for that.
If you are using the RM-PJ2 remote control, following these instructions. You will have 5 seconds to complete the key sequence.
1. Make sure the Projector is in "Standby" mode. There will be a red light instead of green
2. Press the Reset button
3. On the "joystick" type button, toggle the left directional arrow
4. On the "joystick" type button, toggle the right directional arrow
5. Press down on the "joystick" button to press Enter.
6. Your lamp hours should now be reset.
Recap: Reset, left arrow, right arrow, Enter, all within 5 seconds.
Good luck!
Hi there
You should hold down the left & right scroll buttons on the remote and press menu. That will reset the lamp timer.
Hi there
Make sure the Projector is in standby mode - in other words take out the power cable and plug it back in - now it is in standby mode.
Hold down the left and right buttons on your remote and press enter.
Sorry I see that I said menu on my previous posting. It should be Enter.
Hope this helps you !

The lamp timer on the Hitachi projector must be reset whenever the lamp has been replaced. The "Lamp" indicator on the display will light red or the "Change the Lamp" message will display when the lamp timer needs to be reset. Hitachi recommends that the lamp timer never be reset without replacing the lamp and to always reset the timer when the lamp is replaced. The message functions of the projector will not function properly if the lamp timer is not correctly reset.
Turn the power on. Press the "Reset" button for three seconds until the "Lamp xxxx hr" message appears on the lamp timer on the bottom of the screen.
Press the "Menu" button on the remote control while the lamp timer is displayed.
Press the left arrow button. Select "0" and wait until the timer display clears.
