It might be a good idea to take it to an auto shop that does RV repairs. That way they can take a look at it and see what might be wrong with your RV. That is something that I would want to do if I had an RV. http://www.swdieselservice.com/services

I'm assuming when you say 'doesn't work' you mean 'nothing comes on,' i.e. the fan or the compressor.

If that's the case I would check for the AC breaker to see if it's tripped. Usually a 'tripped' breaker will look half on and half off, but sometimes it will be completely in the off positiion. Either way - it's usually because of a malfunction of the AC unit, so if that's the problem I would moniter it closely to see if it trips again. If it trips again in the immediate future I would then want to investigate the AC unit for the cause.

Also, some RV's have fuses in the AC circuit - so you could check and see if you have any fuses labled AC or AC control voltage. If so - you can usually - tell by looking whether they are bad or not. If that's not possible try replacing your 'AC labled fuse' with a new one of the same size.

I would also check your power supply (where the power cord to your RV plugs into) to make sure it is providing the proper voltage to your RV. Note: They also have breakers out on the box that you can reset. If they (breakers) appear ok - and you are at a RV park you could have the Park personel - check and to be sure the proper voltage is availible to your RV.

good luck!

I have an RV which air conditioner has a Domestic thermostat 3105356.004 and is not working properly. Searched the internet and can not find one to buy. Do you have a substitution?

no
this site does not sell anything
take the rv to a caravan shop and have the ac specialist check for an after market unit that will fit
most thermostat are alcohol filled tubes that pushes on a diaphragm that makes or breaks a circuit against a spring tension that is set by the knob
so it is very possible that the ac manufacturer used a common make that will fit but you will have to go to places that retails units such as a caravan repair shop or an ac repair specialist shop

My rooftop AC RV air conditioner will not start.

You can take a digital meter and put a lead on each
side of capacitor, the meter reading will go up and
then back down, Reverse the leads and it should do
the same thing.

If this is a dual capcitor that controls the fan and
compressor and only the fan comes on, more than
likely it is not the capacitor. However its easier to
replace the capcitor and prey to god that it works.

If it doesn`t then you know you have other issues for
sure, however the capacitor is a pretty cheap part.
