How do I launch a channel search?

My cable provider has switched the line up around. How do I get the set to "read" the new channel settings?

You want to either find menu or setup on your remote. then choose the section that has something like channel setup or auto setup. just let your set scan through to see what channels you can get. if your tv has a digital tuner than you will receive more channels

Why does my TV not have all channels?

Your set probably does not have the required ATSC digital tuner required to decode most signals.
The only signals still broadcast with both analog and digital signals are those 'over the air' channels that have been around for 50 or more years.
Your set will need a converter that processes the received modern signals and provides the analog output your set needs.

Most cable companies provide these free or if not, they are available
for $20-$40 dollars from many sources.

Installation is very simple, the 'box' is installed between your incoming cable and then to your set and is operated with a remote that comes with the converter.

Hi,apparently when tuning my brand new television, there's only a possibility to pick 27 channels, even when there's more to receive With my previous television (smaller en cheeper) I had more...

It depends on the number of preset channels provided by the processor or the extend of the range of the Tuner in your set. Being a new model please consult with the manuals for the range of the tuner.
Alternatively having set top box/ digicable can solve the issue as your cable service provider can update the estimates.

"Failed to receive broadcast"

On your TV remote, press "INPUT".It is hard to find, but it should be there.Select"TV" and press"ENTER" button.I believe it is on the top of the list.On some cable boxes you have to select channel 3 and use the cable box remote to change channels. Also, make sure your TV antenna setting is set to "Cable" from the "Air/Cable"(Antenna setting). You will have to read your manual to find out how to get to this menu. After that do a "Ch Search"[Channel search].This automatically searches for all available channels and stores them. It will take some time. You will see the channel numbers as it does it's search. This is done so when you press channel up and down keys it will only go to next channel available and not to one with no signal.Hope this is of some help.

Auto search through

Tested and verified solution:
  1. Set Tuner Mode to "antenna".
  2. Run a channel scan. Should get zero channels found.
  3. Set Tuner Mode to "cable".
  4. Run another channel scan.
  5. Celebrate!

Initial channel search ineffective

If you use a top of set box this may be the problem. The tuner in the set could be bad but that don't happen very often. Some place you have a cable splitter that can go bad. Try anothe set on that cable line if it works ok then it is the set

My new TV is set for cable. I do not have cable, I have an anten

Sansui TV's come from the factory set for CABLE. If this is a HDLCDVD320, you will have to go into the menu to change the signal type to AIR, then run the automatic search to program in your channels. Their free customer service line is 800 289 0980.
I hope this helps.

Cable from wall does not work through box.

What box? What is the wall jack connected to? There is not enough information in the description to provide an answer.

Cable

Don't know where you are from, however, if you are with mediacom or a similar Cable provider, They informed me that their cable box does the converting and will only work when your tv is set to Analog. So, searching for "digital" channels will get you no-where. Set and search channels in analog and you "should" receive digital. Call your local cable provider and see if they tell you the same. Silly question, but are you signed up for digital service???
