My LCD Prostar 816 shows the Speaker light flashing rapidly. When I click on it, it takes me to an Internal Page screen. I can clear out of that, but I get the flashing Speaker light again. This happened after reprogramming my Date/Time due to unplugging the system to install a new battery backup.

To change the ringing on a Prostar 816 you first need to be at a display set (doesn't matter what the extension number is).
with the handset down, enter #20 the screen should say MMC DISABLED
enter in 1 2 3 4 1 # (that enables programming)
enter in #62 the screen should say day ring assn
press the line you wish to program
press the buttons for the extensions that you wish to ring (the ones in the right next to the handset)
press # when finished with the line
repeat steps 2 through 5 for the remainder of the lines you wish to change
press # when finished.

There is no way of brightening the LCD however the Prostar 816 display phone, however it is designed so that the display tilts to deflect the lights. I'm sorry this isn't really a help. however I have uploaded 1 of almost 70 videos which may help you with any further issues on the Prostar 816. more tips on training on

Sounds like you might have accidently set call forwarding up. To cancel call forwarding, with the handset down in the cradle press #11.

To change the time on a prostar 816 you first need to be at a display set (doesn't matter what the extension number is).
with the handset down, enter #20 the screen should say MMC DISABLED
1) enter in 1 2 3 4 1 # (that enables programming)
2) enter in #55 the screen should say YYMMDDWHHMM
3) enter in the year, month, day, day of the week, hours and minutes(the day of the week values are 1= mon. 2= tues. etc.)
press # when finished.

If you have tried clearing the message by following the prompts on the the message key and this doesn't work, try going into MMC 722 and assigning a key to be MSG. then once you have done this try to clear the message following prompts on your screen.I have uploaded a video showing how to program the soft key, written tutorial is on www.abbeytelecom.com

The blinking light on the speaker button means the forward when busy is on. To cancel it- With the handset on-hook dial #12.
Then press your own station number. Then dial # again. The speaker button should stop flickering.
Note: If the SPK button continues to flicker, Forward all is activated. It is the same process as above but use #11 instead of #12
