HI. This is usually the fault of a failed water valve assembly. This device should be inspected properly for damage. it is possible that you will need to replace the entire valve assembly. To isolate the issue, follow the procedure I have provided, below.

WATER INLET VALVE INSPECTION PROCEDURE:

The water inlet valve can be identified by the water hoses connected to it at the back of the washer. Start by turning off the water supply at the valves on the wall. Disconnect both hoses from the back of the washer. Place the hoses into a bucket and turn them on to confirm that you are getting good water pressure and to clear out any debris from the line.

Inspect the filter screens on both the hoses and the inlet valve for debris build up. If you find any debris, clean it out. Use caution to avoid damaging the filter screens because the screens in the valve are not replaceable.

If debris was not present then proceed to the next step of testing the solenoids. Access to the valve may be easiest by opening the top or the back of the washer, depending upon make and model.

There are two wires connected to each solenoid on the water inlet valve. Label the wires and connections so that you can properly reconnect them later. The wires are connected with slip-on connectors. Firmly pull the connectors off of the terminals. You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Inspect the connectors and the terminals for corrosion. If either is corroded they should be cleaned or replaced.

Use a continuity tester or multimeter to test for continuity. Set the multimeter to the ohms setting X1. Touch one probe to each terminal. A reading of infinity indicates a bad solenoid that must be replaced. Different brands and models will have various measurements, but the valve should show some resistance if it is functioning properly. Test the second one in the same way as the first.

Frigidaire Professional Series dishwasher started to have hot water suddenly fill up dishwasher and the pour out onto my kitchen floor. The dishwasher was not on. I had to press cancel button to get water...

I think your hot water inlet valve has failed open. It is electrically operated, and can stick in that position.

If not that, it is possible that the water level sensor signal has failed, but that should only be apparent when the washer is on.

It requires a service call.

Took out the dishwasher because we changed the floor covering. After the new floor covering was laid I put the dishwasher back in to where it goes. Hooked up the hot water and drain and plugged into power...

most dishwashers are fitted with pressure switch and overtemp features.. shortage of water should not have damaged machine in any way.. sound like you may have faulty solenoid which allows water electronicly in to the machine.... thus causing safety device to freeze timer

Leak at back of machine

A leak at the back of a washing machine can come from several sources.
It requires a good investigation.
Here are some of the first area to look at that are on the outside of the machine

1 Hot and Cold Fill Hoses may not be tight enough. So water can drip down the hose, or back of machine onto the floor
2 Drain Hose-Usually about an inch or so in diameter. Hose in new machines should not leak itself, but if it is not mounted or attached well enough into the drainage plumbing mounted on the wall (The box with the Hot and Cold Water Shut-offs, it will leak or splash water onto the floor during the drain cycle.
3 Damaged plumbing in the wall can seep under the wall and end up under the washer. This is very rare, but I have seen it.

4 There is a filter mounted behind a panel on the lower back side of the machine. It is possible a leak is occurring from that area. Take off the cover and see.

If the above don't handle it, the next step is for what is not easy to detect. Leaks inside the machine. You will need to go into it and LOOK with your eyes and a good flashlight.
Hope this helps,
Best, Mark

MY UNDER FLOOR HEATING IS WORKING , BUT ALL OF A SUDDEN THE ROOMS HAVE ALL GONE COLD AND THE HOT WATER ONLY RUNS HOT FOR ABOUT TEN SECONDS HELP!!!

Hi, It sounds to me that you have a floor furnace that is working, but you have hot water set-up for the rest of the house. You say the water stays hot for about 10 minutes only? Is it on a hot water heater or small boiler with a circulating pump? If this is how it is set up, It sounds as though what ever is heating the water to the rest of the house is shutting off to soon, or if you have a pump, it may have failed. If you do have a pump that has failed, they are set - up to shut the heating system down if it were to fail. Please check to see what set-up you have and get back to me asap, so that I can solve this for you. Check these things out I have Mentioned to you and let me know.
Sincerely,

Bosch SHU3300 dishwasher stuck on hot water intake (w/ no power)

It sounds like the fill vlave is stuck open. This can happen if your pressure is low or if the machine is old. I would start by replacing the vlave.

Water level issues on the Whirlpool washer.

It's overfilling If your washer is overfilling, check these:

Water-inlet valve
Water-level switch
Water-inlet valve A defect in the water-inlet valve may mean that it's no longer able to shut off completely when the electricity has been turned off to it. If this occurs, the valve may leak and drip water into the clothes tub. In time, the water may accumulate substantially. If this happens, you need to replace the valve.

Water-level switch A defect--or an obstruction--in the water-level switch may mean that it can't tell the water to shut off. So the machine overflows. This switch senses the water level in the clothes tub. It's usually a diaphragm device with a small, clear tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. As the water level in the tub increases, the pressure on the air in the tube increases. When the pressure reaches a certain level, it activates the switch, shuts off the water, and signals the timer to begin the agitate cycle. You can either clear any obstruction in the tube or replace the water-level switch.

It's underfilling The water-level switch regulates your washer's fill volume. This switch is usually a diaphragm device with a small, clear tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. As the water level in the tub increases, the pressure on the air in the tube increases. When the pressure reaches a certain level, it activates the switch, shuts off the water, and signals the timer to begin the agitate cycle. If the switch is defective, it may prematurely signal the water to shut off. If so, you probably need to replace the water-level switch.

The water temperature is incorrect The temperature of the incoming water determines the temperature of the water in your washer. You get either hot, cold, or a mix of the hot and cold water that's currently available to the machine. So if the cold water that enters the machine is very cold--or if the hot water entering the machine is very hot--the warm water is affected.

If you live in a Northern climate, unless you adjust the hot and cold water taps that supply water to your washer, the warm water supplied to your washer is usually hotter during the summer months and colder during the winter months.

Drain in freezer plugs up

sometimes can be solved by loosely coiling a piece of solid copper wire around the defrost heating element and down into the drain a little. the radiant heat on the wire during defrost cycle may help keep the drain open

Hot water goes into cold water washes

It is normal for the machine to cycle between hot and cold water when filling even if selecting a cold cycle. The reason for this is because even a cold cycle requires the water temperature to be 78F for the soap to break up efficiently.

During the cold months the water in your pipes is probably less than 78F so the machine will need to add some hot water to bring it up to this temperature. Basically, it is adding cold and then hot water to maintain a temperature in the tub of 78F for cold water cycles.

Hope this helps, please rate my solution.

When temp is set on hot water--hot water shuts off & cold water comes out

In the machine, you have a solenoid that the water hoses come into. That piece is controlled by a timer. The hot water during the cycle, does it shut off completely during fill or intermittent?

Cold Water Solenoid Problem

The fill switch has a diaphragm that could be damaged and not closing properly. I have personally experienced this problem before. The way water could be getting by the switch (even with no power applied) is simply water pressure in the lines. I don't understand why it would work during the spin and rinse cycles, however. If you say it's not a pressure switch problem (level sensor), then I would invest in a new fill valve. I hope this helps.
