When RR knob is turned to "spark", there is no spark on RR burner. But, when I turn R front knob to "spark", both RR and RF burner spark - since there is no gas to RR burner (since that knob is "off") the RR burner doesn't light. In order to light the RR burner, I have to turn RF knob to "spark" and simultaneously turn on RR burner. The unit is 3 yrs old and the RR burner has always been a little "touchy" when lighting. Only in the last week has it totally stopped sparking.

replace your spark module have you spilled liquid on the cooktop recently? if yes let it dry for a couple of days and see what happens. sometimes when you spill liquid on the cooktop it grounds out the spark module and it will continue to spark until it drys. let me know if you need more help
hi gud day,i think the sensor is we have problem is hard to repair in ur own,try to call the person have expireince for repair that unit, or ur igniter ligther have damage like small broken if u hear have click is ok but much better to check the igniter coz the broken igniter is not directly spark in the burner that why is not light.to check if remove the burner base cover then see if the igniter like a small niddle color white,turn the knob to click the igniter then see it wer the spark directly if u not see it means have a broken igniter.
it is strange that you have no gas and no spark! if you held a match to the burner and turned the burner valve on it would lite di spite a failed ignitor,but for it not to lite, the burner valve[its what the knob attaches too] would have to be blocked[thats rare]or ........i got it .....the knob is broken.thats the only thing the burner valve and the spark ignitor have in common.try a knob from another burner................again.you have spark,because others are working.spark on troubled burner would work if valve blocked at orifice outlet,and if spark failed you would still get gas they work independent of each other,[but in unison].thats why im thinking knob.its the item that works both .when you turn the knob it opens the gas valve and as the gas valve rotates by turning the knob it activates or turns the spark switch so it closes the curcit allowing the electricty to the spark moduel.hey i hope that helps a little. It sounds like the round burner orifices are dirty. Remove the round orifices and clean in warm soapy water, using a plastic scrubber or toothbrush to remove and dirt and residue around the sides of the burner. Do the same on the little electrode that protrudes at some position around the burner orifice seat.
The system works by the spark ignition module knowing a gas knob is open, and sensing for a flame by ionization within the exhaust gases of the flame. If things are dirty, then the module cannot read the ionization and shuts down the burner, and will also cause the spark to continue.
Also make sure all the burner orifices are properly seated in their holder. If not, the same thing will happen.
A lot of questions on this site but very few answers. I have the same problem. After an overflow from a pot, the 2 front burners now won't light one rear one lights but won't stop sparking and the littlest one is fine.
