Not too sure of the model, but on the 720 the grill will not operate unless the door is down (microswitch control - you can hear it operate when the door is shut/opened) and the overheat device has not operated.(Cooling fan has to be running)

Oven. Tripped on switch board when baking

This sounds like the grill element has blown, usually when an element blows it will take out the circuit breakker or RCD at the consumer unit.
If you check around the grill element you will probably find a very small hole in the side of the element, this doesn't happen every time but most.
These are usually quite easy to change but remember to turn off the power before doing anything on the cooker.
You should be able to order the part off the internet, lots of companies supply these parts. You will need your model number and obviously your credit card.
If you don't feel confident, I am sure a local electrician will help you. I would advise that you don't use a company that specialises in appliance repairs as they will charge you a fee just to come out to see you.
Hope this helps

The grill gets hot but doesn't brown the food?

Normally, if a grill element fails, it just stops working. So if they are working then on full power, both elements should get red hot! If this is the case, all I suggest is that you try experimenting with different heights with the grill tray. And by the way, don't shut the door when you are grilling as this shuts the grill off!

Hi Guys I have a Stoves 720EF Double Oven and Grill. Whilst halfway through cooking some sausages on the grill this evening, the grill suddenly stopped working (plus the LED for the grill knob showing...

If the element and the indicator light both stopped working this suggests a problem with the power supply for the grill control. Either the grill control has no power going to it or it is faulty and requires replacement. If you are not sure what you are doing you'd better get a tech. to look at it, it can be fairly complicated for the untrained person.

Electric grill is intermittant or cuts out after 5/10 minutes

There are two overheat devices in the oven. One feeds the oven timer/programmer for the main oven and the other feeds the grill. If the cooling fan is running ok, then I would suspect it is the cutout feeding the grill elements that has perhaps with age is not working as it should do.

Smoke comes out of grill on electric cooker

This sounds like some of the power wiring, or leads which go to the "electric" burners. the smoke is a wire based or very chemical based smell. that in it self is toxic. when it comes to something as major as this you should for your own safety contact the seller if it is under warranty. The voltages and risk or burns electrical and heat wise are not worth the risk to your person and or life and or property.

Dual grill does not work

It sounds like you have no power to the the grill. Check the grill circuit with a tester until you identify where you have power to and then check for loose connections or broken wires from there on.

Stoves 720ef grill not working

The grills appear to be independant of each other. Does the oven still work and the oven light come on?

Depending on your answer it could be that the Top Oven Switch has gone faulty. The Grill Regulator and the Switch work together on the top oven. To get at both you will need to take the top of the oven off.
