Check in the back and see if the belt has a wide span on it. If it does, it doesn't only go around the fan pulley but also the drum (Which is usually the case). THis being the case you need to look for and screws you can find on the dryer outer casing because you will need to remove the outer casing to get to the drum. If you look for screw on the upper part just inside the door many times the upper deck is on hinges and will tilt backward so you can view the top of the drum with the belt on it. Remember how it came apart; it goes back together in reverse manner. Once you usually find the belt tension pulley through the back of the dryer compartment, let the tension off the pulley and slide the belt off of it. Once you get the belt off put it back on just like the old one.

My Maytag Bravos XL dryer will start but not heat at times. I was going to take the unit apart to inspect the heating element and the rest of the unit. I had unplugged the unit and removed the dryer v

Im assuming you have a steam dry option? If this is the case there are fuses attached to this system to avoid injury and bad this from happening. These fuses blow a lot. If you have a ohms meter, check the fuses on the steam dry unit for ohms. I bet one of them is blown and that is the reason your not getting heat during this cycle.

questions
1. is there water flowing to the dryer?
2. Is the dryer connected to a water source
3. Are there any clogged water filters or screens in the back of the Dryer.
4. If there are no water problems, then I would check for thermal fuses or defective control boards.

Replace belt on a maytag med6400tqo

bCheck out a video on youtube. This is a fairly simple do it yourself, but you will need to remove the cabinet of the dryer just leaving the barrel. Remove back cover, remove lint screws. Slide belt between cabinet and barrel. Lay dryer on back and around tension pulley and motor.

Blower motor belt

It could be belt or belt idler problem or rollers or drum has twist on it or motor pully issues .
Every part of dryer drum and motor pulley and idler and belt should be examine and run dryer without top and check it with load and without load and try to isolate problem

Hello Shawn.
Glad to see you got it sorted out.
Maybe you place a "how to.." tip for a wider audience.
PS- while reading your added comment / update re the fix, the 'comment' block suddenly vanished as I exited from it!
Not sure what happened there.. ;[
Maybe try retyping it?

Clive.

My maytag dryer has plenty of heat and the drum is turning, but it is not blowing the hot air and moisture out the vent. I have checked the panel box and everything is fine. My dryer is a Maytag Bravos,...

pull the vent hose off the back of the unit turn it on and make sure it has alot of blowing power if it does blow good you have a clog in your vent hose somewhere,, if not your blower could be bad,, if i remember correcly that one has a belt just for the blower also check that

My bravo steam dryer is showing an F1 code, and I can't get it to start

this is a control board issue, you may be able to clear the fault using these steps:

1) Unplug or turn the circuit breaker off for 30 seconds.

2) Plug the dryer back in or turn the breaker back on.

3) Press the Pause/Cancel/Stop button twice to clear the "PF" in the display.

4) Start a short cycle to check the operation of the machine by selecting a cycle and pressing and holding the start button until the machine starts.

If it will not clear then you will need to replace the control board, Good Luck Tim
