The cyclone is supposed to feed at least 15 p/s if you are having that problem I would take apart the cyclone make is clean, you would not believe how much paint can get in there. I would check the hose and after that the o-ring on the cylinder piston. Another thing that might be messing the cyclone is the speed on the marker or the valve itself not sending the amount of CO2 or air to the cyclone. I hope this helps.

The paintballs just fall straigt out of the gun or shots like 5 at a time

The part that is bad Tippmann calls a "ball latch". It's a small orange rubber part that keeps the ball in place before the marker is fired. The parts is inexpensive it is common in most paintball stores or can be found online at www.tippmannparts.com

I highly recommend taking this paintball marker to a local pro shop to have the part replaced. You can service this marker at home but is not easy to put together if you have experience working on then, they have a few springs under tention that make it tough to put back together. If you are interested in doing the repair yourself I highly recommend doing it on on a clean floor in a clean room so when you disassemble it it will be easier to find the springs that could shoot out.

One thing that will make it easier is to leave the feedneck on. It will keep one less spring from jumping out at you, just a tip from a pro. I also highly recommend not using a spray lubricant and to only use oils in you tippmann made for paintball guns.

I have a tippmann custom pro with a cyclone feeder. I recently got the SAW stock to put on it and encountered some problems many times after I reassembled the gun. I took it apart at least 5 times before...

Hi there. Tippmann markers are super tough to make sure that they are put back together properly. The stupid clamshell design plus all the little, under engineered parts make it difficult to get it back together properly, especially after installing a stock. I was in the paintball industry for 10 years but have been out of it for a little bit, but i was one of the founding members of Uprising Nation and was a gunsmith/ salesman for PaintballOnline.com / Xtremes. Now with that said...I even had trouble with the tippmann 98's...and I can rebuild an autococker with my eyes closed but can sometimes be stumped by the tippy's bad design. It is really tough to diagnose an issue on these guns without looking at it. You may have the ball detent backwards,l missing a pin, sometimes the after market stocks on those are a little too large on the outside diameter preventing the internals from properly seating. The cycloce system may be off due to the valves not meing properly aligned or the connecting rod not being in all the way. Many times though it is incorrect installation of the detent or the deternt gets damages. That little orange peice of **** flap is a mance. I would start there.

It may seem like i am bashing your gun. Im not... Once they are put together properly they work great. Just DONT TAKE THEM APART. lol. If you buy the parts at a local gun shop they will install them for free.

lol I have 6 guns for sale :)

Hello, I have an old Tippman A5 (about 5-6 years

You will have to buy a different barrel for the A5, I would suggest ansgear.com, rockstartactical.com, or ebay. Make sure that you get the right threads along with an apex capeable front. I would suggest the sly carbon fibur barrels, or get a autococker barrel and a lapco adapter for your A5. Hope this helps if you have any questions just let me know.

The automatic feed system is not working. I have to pull the manual feeder lever to load one paintball. It will fire one ball but I have to pull the lever again.

Couple of things.. the A5 is a wonderful marker, got a couple myself.

Make sure it's clean in there. You probably can't see under the bottom of the feeder into the mechanism. If paint gunk and dirt get in there, then it may not be able to turn.

If it's beyond that, there's a cog in there that is key to turning the feed mechanism and can break. But if you can cycle it by hand then that may not be your problem.

Is it only later on when you're playing? Pressure is important here because not only are you propelling the ball out the marker, and working the internals, you are also pushing the feed mechanism for each shot and if there's not enough pressure you won't get that auto-feed.

Try a full tank and see if it works better. Try a different tank than you're currently using. Try nitrogen/compressed air if you're using co2. Variations of a theme here if you couldn't tell.

Good luck.. if that doesn't identify your problem, a quick trip to your local Tippmann certified airsmith should get it back into shape in short order.

I have an a5 paintball gun with electronic trigger, when i hook it to air and pull the trigger, the hopper is not moving!!!

On the A5 the hopper or Cyclone feed is powered thru a small tube on the feeder side
of the gun. Make sure that tube is connected and if so, pull it off and see if air is flowing
thru it when you pull the trigger. If not, the internal passage may be blocked. Tear down
the gun and clean out the obstruction. If there is a pulse of air coming out the tube when firing
then it may be the Cyclone feed mechanism. Just unscrew the 3 phillips head bolts
under the Cyclone and observe the air driven gear drive. Air up the marker and see
what is moving or not moving. Complete replacement upgrade Cyclone gear drives
are available that say they increase performance if you cant get it moving.

My tippmann a5 is spraying air through the barrel as soon as i screw the tank in. i have taken it apart and put it back together several times and every thing looks right.

My first look would be at the tank. Low pressure?

Next is lubrication and clean marker.

Next would be bad o-ring. If it's been a while since you've changed an o-ring in the marker I'd suggest a kit and change them all out at once. Then you know they're all good! It doesn't take much for an o-ring to be damaged and even harder to see with the naked eye. 8^)

Good luck!

A5 freezing up

There might be a couple of reasons for the malfunction. It is my experience that the upgrades made for Tippmann not always improve the performance of the guns, in fact they may cause problems like the one mentioned. I would try to switching your set up back to see if the problem continues and if it does make sure you have a fully loaded tank and that the internals on your cyclone are functioning correctly.
