Stuck in standby mode

My RCA RP8070 5 disc cd player is stuck in the standby mode, keeps shutting off.

i have a cd changer which keeps on going to standby mode thus going off and starts flashing. i am unable to turn off this mode.

Or might there be some other reason for the radio to go off after a while,

please help

There is a major malfunction in the unit that is making this happen. This is not a simple fix. Unfortunately no button pressing sequence will fix this either. I suggest getting a quote from a reliable shop and be prepared to buy a new disk player as repairs can often out price buying a new disk player.

I would check all the little drive belts inside the player, they are likely loose and aged.

RCA cdrw 121 recording shuts down at 41 minutes

Depending on the age of the unit the linear sled may have a blockage in the worm gear t that point. Does it play a disc all the way through or does it stop at 41 minutes too. This would be a hint. Make sure you are not recording in a high resolution mode which will cut down on time.

Play mode

Press PLAY MODE to cycle

between 1 Disc, All Discs,

Repeat 1, Repeat 1 Disc, and
Repeat All Discs.

The player is stuck in standby mode. The machine will not respond to anything. Can you help? Is there some sort of reset function?

Caps in power supply PCB are dry.Changing 10000uf,2200uf,470uf will help.
