6600 ringtone My 6600 is set to ringing mode but when someone calls or i listen ringtones it just vibrates

Does the phone plays music without any problem? If you play music to hear it on the loud speaker, and there is no sound, then you probably have a hardware failure, (bad speaker). But if you get to listen to the music, then try this next steps to see if it can be fix.

From the iPhone's home screen, tap the Settings app.

In Settings, tap Sounds in the third group of options.

In Sounds, swipe down to the Sounds and Vibration Patterns section. In that section, look forRingtone. That displays what you have set as your current iPhone ringtone. Tap it to change that.

This menu shows you the list of all the ringtones available on your iPhone.
To get new ringtones, tap the Store button in the top right corner. This will take you to the ringtone section of the iTunes Store where you can stock up on new ringtones.

If you choose not to buy new ringtones, but instead use the ones loaded on your phone, the first set of options in the Ringtones section are ones that you bought from the iTunes Store or created using another app and have synced to your iPhone. The ones below the divider came pre-installed on the iPhone.
Alert Tones, farther down the screen, aren't ringtones exactly. They're alert sounds normally used for alarms and other notifications, but they can be used as ringtones, too.

When you tap on a ringtone, it will play so you can preview it and decide if it's what you want. When you've chosen the ringtone you want to use as your default, make sure it has the checkmark next to it. Then tap the Sounds button in the top left corner or click the Home button to go back to the home screen. Your choice is saved automatically.

Now, whenever a call comes in, the ringtone you just selected will play (unless you've assigned individual ringtones to callers, that is. If you have, those ringtones take precedence). Just remember to listen for that sound, and not a ringing phone, so you don't miss any calls.

Sound Settings
You can customize various sound settings.
Incoming call

Ringtone.
This menu allows you to select a ring melody. Highlight Ringtone and press . Use the Up or Down key to highlight a ring tone or press the Left or Right key to select a file from either the Default Melodies, Voice list, or Sounds folders. Press the Select soft key.

Volume
This menu allows you to adjust the ring volume to one of 7 levels plus Silent mode and Vibration mode.

• Use the Right or Left key to increase or decrease the volume.

Alert type
This menu allows you to specify how inform you of incoming calls. Use the Right or Left key to select an Alert type.
The following options are available:
- Melody: the phone rings using the ring melody selected in the Ringtone menu.
- Vibration: the phone vibrates but does not ring.
- Melody and vibration: the phone rings and vibrates simultaneously.
- Vibration then melody: the phone vibrates three times and then starts ringing.
- Melody then vibration: the phone rings using the ring melody selected in the Ringtone menu and then vibrates.

Message tone
This menu allows you to set up the ringer for incoming messages. You can set the Tone, Alert type, and Repetition.

• Use the Up or Down Navigation keys to make your selections.

Keypad tone
This menu allows you to select a Beep or a Xylophone for your Keytone and to select the Volume (0-7) that the
phone sounds when you press a key.

you want to goto settings in your mobile phone and select restore factory setting, in that type the security code 12345 and press ok .then the problem will be solved

CUSTOMIZING YOUR PHONE VOLUME
Control the volume for Ringtone, Speakerphone, Headset, and Advanced settings.
Ringtone
Set ringtone volume and incoming call alert options:
1. Press [Menu], then press "Settings".
Press "Sounds", then press "Volume".
2. Press "Ringtone".
3. Press / to adjust the volume level. Press to select Vibrate when High is the volume level.
The volume settings available are:
• Silence all: All sounds are off.
• Vibrate : Phone will vibrate to alert you of incoming call or message.
• Off: Only the ringtone is muted.
• Ringtone mode: Low, Medium, High.
Tip • You can adjust the ringtone volume with the side keys.

make sure you have the phone set to ring, it could be on silent or vibrate mode, there is also a profile that will not allow you to set ring tone, it'll always be silent, so try a different profile

There is no option to turn off the ringtone. You're not doing anything wrong. The only way to turn off the ringtone is to use the volume button to turn the sound off or to vibrate, or using the hot key (#) to go to "Vibrate Only Activated". I hope this explains what you wanted to know.

This phone allows you to independently set ring and vibrate modes. When you access "Call Vibrate" to set the mode, also visit the "Call Ringtone" menu to turn off the ringer.

You may want to leave the vibrate mode OFF and your ring tone ON and use the quick keys to switch between ring and vibrate. Two ways to do this, push and hold the # key to switch between normal mode (the settings you chose in "Call Ringtone" and "Call Vibrate") or use the side volume button to access the "Master Volume" and select "All Off", "Vibrate" or a ring tone volume.

Just copy the ringtone in phone memory which you want to set. It will give you option to set it as ringtone.

hi, before applying tone, play it & listen, if it plays sound. Resent ur mobiles master setting & apply now. bye
