Can I change the gear leaver on my VL8oo k5 from a h+t

Can I change the gear leaver on my VL8oo k5 from a heel and toe to the standard toe change with out any problems. I never use the heel change and am used to the toe change.
Can I grind the heel bit off or do I have to buy a new unit ?
thanks

You can grind it off or buy another lever.To buy another,you will still have the original if you resell the bike.Nothing will create a problem.Hope this helps

2018 C90T. Why isn't heel-toe shifter returning to the proper position?

You need to pull the shifter off and move it to a different position on the shaft. One little notch makes a big difference on a shift-shaft.

MY BIKE SHIFTS HARD GOING INTO 5TH GEAR. THIS IS USING THE HEEL PART OF THE SHIFTING LEVER. IT SEEMS TO GO INTO GEAR EASIER WHEN LIFTING ON THE TOE PART OF LEVER. ANY SUGGESTIONS? THANKS.

The heel and toe shifter is brutal on gear boxes, any motorcycle I have had over the years the heel shift was never used in fact we, we meaning all my friends would ether cut that hell part off or purchase the actual toe shifter and install it. Some of the new cruiser type bikes come with these heel and to shifters and you can hear the rider slamming the gears. The toe shifter is a much more precise feel. You can also feel if the shift has go into the gear or a faults neutral with the hell you slam through it, makes me shiver just thinking of it. A question to you (you don't need to answer it) is how many high performance motorcycles have you see with a heal/toe shifter, I would hope none

I'm considering buying shoes with toes. How can I know that my fivefingers fit?

Ideally, you will want your toes and heel to fit into each pocket comfortably snug, with your longest toe grazing the end of the toe pocket. You do not want the standard 1/2 inch of "wiggle" room as desired in traditional footwear.
Although it is perfectly fine for your toes to graze the end of the toe pockets, make sure that each toe can extend fully. If any of your toes are scrunched or curled due to lack of space, you need to go up in size. Alternately, if you wiggle your toes and they slip out of the toe pockets, you need to go down in size. Ultimately, you should find a pair that you are comfortable in and that allow you to perform activities freely and naturally-as if you are wearing no shoes at all!

HI can the gear leaver be ajusted, {taken forward a little as i have large feet and i find my foot is at a sharpe angle downwards to be able to get under the lever}

You do not say what model you have but this may not matter. What you need is a heel toe shifter. You downshift with your toe and up shift with your heel. Kuryakyn may make one that fits your bike. But you may be able to fit one off off a Road Star if the spline is the same. The only other options would be to have a welder cut and extend the lever (If it is iron or aluminum.).

I am in process of buying Pulsar180cc but find problem with gear lever. It is a toe shifting gear shaft and can damage my formal shoes. if there is any possibility to change the gear lever ?

If you wrap some foam rubber or a bit of cloth around the shifter you wil overcome the problem, and get a free shine at the same time. Unfortuantely, these bikes do not have a heel shifter. If you go to a bike shop, you might find one that has matching splines, that wat you can downshift using the toe shifter and up shift using the heel..
