Printer has stopped printing .pdf files

I have a printer plugged (via usb port) into my desktop pc (running xp professional) and wirelessly connected to my laptop (running vista home premium) via a home network. It has been working just fine until this morning. I tried to print a .pdf file and it appears as though it is being sent to the printer but when I went into the other room to get the files the printer had not printed them. The printer did print .pdf files on Wednesday which was the last time I had the pc or printer turned on. What has happened and how do I fix this problem? Nothing has been changed on either machine since I used it last on Wednesday. (the printer will print the .pdf file if I copy it to the desktop machine and then try to print it.)
The printer is printing regular word documents with no problems.

Check your list of printers and make sure the default printer is the correct one.

SOURCE: Does not print pdf files

It sounds like it is a printer memory issue. That printer comes with just 64MB of memory and PDF files are complicated for most printers. Try printing a few pages at a time for that PDF file and see if that works. If so than it is a memory issue.

I hope it helps.

SOURCE: HP Officejet 6110 stops printing. Installation of updated software and drivers stops without any warning

Try a complete uninstall:
Unplug the USB cable from your PC.
Go to Control panel add or remove programs. and delete all the entries you see for HP.( If it promts a restart do not restart now)
Then open my computer> C:drive> Program files> and delete the HP Folder only (not Hewlett Packard)
Then Open C:drive> Program files> Common Files and then delete HP and Hewlett Packard folder.
Then Go to C:Drive> Windows> Temp and empty the temp folder as much as you can.
Then go to Recycle bin and empty recycle bin.
Then Insert the All-In-One CD and cancel the installation process.
Open the content of the CD> and open Util folder> Then CCC> Then click on Uninstall_L4 and follow the on screen process.
After all restart the computer.

And if possible download the latest printer driver from HP website and install the same
Let me Know if any problem

unless this is a wireless enabled or lan RJ45 connectable printer you cannot, the pc that the printer is connected to must be on at the time of the printing.

Wireless printers have their own arial and allocated ip address, Lan RJ45 connective printers can be connected to the router.
