Crack in screen - Hitachi 43UWX10B 43" Rear Projection Television

If your LCD is cracked, you will need to unfortunately replace the entire LCD. Simply putting a screen protector (which is just a thin film) will not stop the crack from getting worse. There is unfortunately no magical way to fix your screen other than simply replacing the LCD panel itself, which is totally doable. Many electronics repair shops can fix your TV pretty easily. In some cases, you can even mail it into Toshiba.

Been told by Pandigital support that you don't replace broken/cracked screen. They reccomend you buy a new media tablet.

The protector screen is $247.79 If the screen behind that is damaged, that one is $147.97 If the last screen is damaged, that one is $495.00
I hope he only damaged the 1st clear screen, known at the screen protector

I have bad news for you, the total cost for the three screens you will need will be about $290.00. They can be obtained from http://www.encompass.com . Here are the part #s: Fresnel 23311898 $80.00, Lenticular 23311897 $120.00 and Protector 23311863 $90.00.

Installation is straight forward. Generally you have to remove the back top cover with the mirror attached. Then check under the bezel on the front, below the screen, for several screws. Remove the screen and lay it flat on the floor. Remove the screen hold in screws or clips. Remove the screen.

Assemble the new screens. Make sure they are in the correct order. Protector (on outside), Lenticular in the middle and the Fresnel on the inside. You will need to secure the screens together. Black cloth tape works well around the perimeter. Reinstall the screen into the frame and reassemble the unit. This should complete the job.

You can find a replacement at http://www.encompass.com . There are three parts to the screen (protector, screen & fresnel) and you will need all three if they are all cracked which is most likely. Total cost about $200.00 plus shipping. Let me know if you need more help.

these tvs have 3 screens, 2 functonal, and the 3rd is just a screen protector. mitsubishi makes them so you can remove the protector to eliminate glare if you want, and its customer removable. if this is the only one that cracked, remove it and you will actually have a better picture. you just need a small flat head screwdriver. pry of the little plastic pieces at the top and bottom (some are on sides) that hold the screen in. its just held in on 2 sides, and then you flex it to get it out. if it cracked into the 2 screens behind the protector, you've got bigger issues and the repair could get expensive. contact your local mits service center for quotes, but the screens are atleast 100 each, just for parts. let me know if i can be of further assistance.

screen protectors are only plastic covers that protects the screen from scratches and such.
It is not possible to buy a new LCD screen.
Since the camera is now Out of Warranty a repair will cost 48 pounds with KODAK.

what is the model number for you set. is it a hd52w56 or something like that. on that model it is called the super sheild. is the inner screens damaged.. if just the outer screen that runs 200 or more. i have seen people just replace the plexiglass on it. the inner screens run about 250

yes it can be replaced.calling a technician is much advisable as fitting the new screen is not very easy as it should be allighned as the old broken screen was before.if there is a slight difference in the fitting you will not be able to see the clear picture.

I had one broken a few months ago. I got a couple quotes.. it was about $200 less then a brand new one. I'd just buy a new one.

For the new TV I'd pickup a screen protector for it. My son threw a toy at my TV the other day and I nearly had a heart attack from the flashbacks. Thank God I picked up one of these a few weeks earlier. It stopped it. http://www.tv-armor.com
