MyHP psc 1315 printer scanner keeps saying im empty but it is filled to capacity with paper. what can i do

Hi chrisneil,

This issue is generally caused by dirty rollers. Dust, paper scraps, and grime build-up on the paper feed rollers can cause paper jams. Follow these steps to clean the paper feed rollers.

Step one: Clean the rollers

Gather the following materials:

1. A clean, lint-free cloth, or any cloth that will not come apart or leave fibers Distilled, filtered, or bottled water (tap water might damage the product) Clean, lint-free cotton swabs.

2. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.

3. Press the tab on the left side of the rear access door, and then pull the door outward to remove it.

4. Lightly dampen a clean, lint-free cloth with bottled or distilled water, and then squeeze any excess liquid from the cloth.

5. Press the cloth against the paper feed rollers, and then rotate them upward with your fingers. Apply a moderate amount of pressure to remove any dust or dirt build-up.

6. Locate the pick roller on the left side of the product below and behind the paper feed roller.

7. Lightly dampen a clean, lint-free cotton swab, and then use it to clean the pick roller.

8. Allow the rollers to dry for 10 or 15 minutes.

9. Check the rollers on the rear access door. Make sure that the rollers are not missing, that they turn easily, and that they are springy when you press them. If the rollers are damaged, replace the door.

10. Reattach the rear access door. Align the door pins with the slots on the right side of the rear of the product, and then push the door forward, snapping it into place.

11. Press the On/Resume button ( ) to turn on the product.

Step two: Print a self-test report

Print a self-test report. See the section on how to use these solutions at the beginning of this document.

If the self-test report does not print when slowly pushing the paper farther in , repeat the previous steps to clean the rollers again. If the issue continues after repeated cleaning, skip the next solution in this document, and then service the product. If the self-test report prints when slowly pushing the paper farther in , try printing the original document again. The paper might not have been loaded far enough into the product. If the issue is resolved, there is no need to continue troubleshooting. If the paper only feeds through the product when you slowly push it farther in , repeat the previous steps to clean the rollers again. If the issue continues after repeated cleaning, skip the next solution in this document, and then service the product.

If the self-test report prints , try printing the original document again. If the issue is resolved, there is no need to continue troubleshooting. If the self-test report prints, but the original document does not , continue to the next solution in this document. If the self-test report does not print , try printing the report again. Listen for the rubber paper-pick rollers; you should be able to hear them rotating. Then, try slowly pushing the paper farther in until the roller engages to pick up the paper. Be careful not to push the paper in too far, which can cause paper jams.

Hope it helps.

  • If the self-test report does not print , continue with the next solution.
Solution two: Clear any paper jam Jammed paper can cause the carriage to stall. Follow these steps to clear any jammed paper. Step one: Remove any loose paper Remove any loose paper from the input tray and output tray. CAUTION: Do not remove jammed paper at this stage. Trying to clear a paper jam from the front of the product can damage the print mechanism. Step two: Clear the paper jam from the back of the All-in-One Use the following steps to check for and remove jammed paper from the back of the product.
  1. Press the Power button (c01602202.gif ) to turn off the product.

  5. Gently pull the paper out of the rollers. CAUTION: If the paper tears when removing it from the rollers, check the rollers for torn pieces of paper that might remain inside the product. If any torn pieces of paper remain inside the product, more paper jams are likely to occur.
  6. If you are printing labels, see if any are missing from the label sheet. If any labels are missing, find them inside the product, and then remove them carefully.
  7. Reattach the rear door. Gently push the door forward until it snaps into place.
Step three: Clear the paper jam from the front of the product Follow these steps to remove the paper jam from the front of the product.
  1. Open the cartridge access door. Figure 2: Open the cartridge access door c01913998.gif Illustration of opening the cartridge access door
  2. If you find paper jammed in the product that cannot be removed through the rear door, gently remove the paper through the front of the product.
NOTE: Remove paper from the front of the product as carefully as possible. If any torn pieces of paper remain inside the product, more paper jams are likely to occur, and this could damage the print mechanism.
  3. Close the cartridge access door. Figure 3: Close the cartridge access door c01913999.gif Illustration of closing the cartridge access door
  4. Reconnect the power cord to the back of the product.
  5. Press the Power button (c01602202.gif ) to turn on the product.
  6. Try to print a self-test report. See the steps on how to print a self-test report at the top of this document.
  • If these steps resolved the issue , and the self-test report prints , there is no need to continue troubleshooting. Reconnect the USB cable, and then try to print again.

How do i print what i type on cd

Don't use the HP software that came with this printer as it's ****. What you need to do is go to Mircosoft Work, open a new document, go to Page Setup, Paper and choose paper size as CD/DVD 120mm. Then type whatever you need to do on this document and then when going to print, go File/Print/Properties and choose Print on CD/DVD.
Voila, it'll print using the CD holder.

How do you turn off the in use/memory light?

This of course depends on why the light is on! If you had a fax come in and it is in memory, you will need to print the fax and clear the memory before the light will go out. The LCD Display should be telling you why that light is on.

1. There is a fax or print job in memory waiting to be printed.--> See steps below
2. There is a paper jam --> Open printer - Remove all paper - Close printer - press OK button
3. You are out of ink or the cartridges are low. - Change Cartridges

Epson Stylus Photo R300 Inkjet Printer When I try to print on a cd/dvd I line up the arrows hit print but it keeps telling me to close the cd/dvd tray, there is no way it will print with this tray.

The cd/dvd tray door has a small opening on right edge. Inside there is a slide switch. Use a toothpick to see if it is stuck. Check where it closes to the main body. A thin strip protrudes out to mate and close the plastic actuator of the switch. The door may not be closing well enough the actuate the switch. Make sure it is fully closed and retry to print. Also, there will be a small click as you raist the door before it snaps into place. If not, check to see if there may be some debris causing it to not actuate properly.
Good luck,
