when posting tell the town you live, nothing else matters,

My 2003 ford ranger edge with a 3.0 liter flex fuel engine is only getting 12.5 mpg. how can I improve the milage? It has 210000 miles on it.

These are ideas only as there are many things that could improve gas mileage.
When was the last time you had a tune up? (Spark plugs check for bad sensors . When was the Air filter changed..
do you always check the air pressure in the tires. Low tires can bring your mileage down five miles per gallon or more.
Do you drive with fast starts and stops.
Do you run short trips? Short trips does not let the engine warm up to the right traveling temperature. I live in town and I get about 15 miles per gallon in town but if I drive 20 miles or more I get 24 or more with my Buick.
You will get less mileage if you drive in real cold weather.

D-Link DIR 685 link drops regularly, I have firmware Ver 1 ,year2009

Try using a different channel. A higher one. Default settings often get interference from cordless land line phones (up to a mile away!!). Channel change usually resolves the issue.

1999 fleetwood limited which is a deville stretched one foot by superior coach for cadillac. Car has 120000 miles mostly freeway. Transmission all of a sudden started whining a bit then started slipping in...

Hey Anon, The GM transmissions that are bolted to V8's need to have regular service when they are newer... fluid and filter every 50K for the first 150K, with a full fluid exchange at 150K,.. IF this has NOT happened to this vehicle, its time for a "rebuild-tune-up". I have seen this toooo many times... It should costs around $1400 -$1600..
I use a friend that has a transmission shop, he is a drag racer too...they KNOW how to repair transmissions to make them last! If you live near somewhere that has a drag strip.. go there and ask some of the racers who is the best automatic transmission man in town... USE HIM!!

Two weeks ago my 2007 Town & County (23,200 miles on it) began hard starting. So I held down the key about 4 seconds & it started. My owner's manual says to not hold the key down over 15 seconds....

Sounds to me you dont have a problem. Every once in a while, if the car was hot when you shut it off and tried to restart it after 1-3 min of sitting, you might have to crank it over for a few seconds, to clear out the engine. I wouldn't worry about it if it only happens once in a while.

2 Telephone lines and one phone jack

Most of the Cordless 2 line phone BASE UNITS have the connections on the back for line1/line2 or seperate line 1 and line 2 connection. If you have the type of phone with the line1/line2 jack you have to be sure that both lines are on the same wall jack, otherwise make sure the phone you purchase has seperate line jacks and you will have two phone cords going to the base unit.

I live out in the country 1 mile from town and I got a wireless-g 2.4 ghz Linksys usb network setup adapter. how do I make it work?

Do you have internet access? dial-up, DSL or Cable? or is this a LAN only? What operating system? XP, Linux, Vista?
The software CD that comes with it is installed first, then you are asked to insert the USB NIC. That will make it 'work", but there must be a wireless network in range to connect. Do you have a wireless access point? One mile is too far for you to access any free WAPs in town, like Starbucks or something. If it is a laptop, I suggest a ride into town to test it out.
