If its making a spinning noise then , under the scanner glass you will see a light assembly.on each side of the light assembly you will see two pairs of gears.if that gears are cracked /broken or getting blocked due to any dust object .then this can be the reason of the loud spinning noise.you will need to open the upper cover of scanner and even the glass layer of scanner.the glass is stuck on the rectangle sides of the scanner not very hard but its bit delicate job to do .so do it carefully if doing it manually/. but if the noise coming is not spinning but its humming noise then its not the gears problem its the problem of the motor in the scanner.there is a motor in the scanner assembly.the motor is located under the green color mini circuit board of the scanner.for checking motor ,you will need to remove the upper and glass sheet of the scanner.in both the problems you need to remove the upper cover and glass sheet. beside the motor there is a electrical cable .also check the cable which is connected to the motor if any of the wire of that cable is getting cut or the cable itself is getting loose then it can make the motor overheated and this can make the loud humming noise. this will help.do it carefully and slowly.please do rate the solution if helped.keep up dated for further assistance if required. thanks.

If the noise is a high pitched whirrrrr, it is the scanner warming up and getting ready for the scan job. If it clunks, or the noise "sounds bad", make sure the "Lock" is not engaged on the bottom of the scanner.

Why my steering wheel makes a noise when I turn it side to side?

Assume the noise is coming from under the hood. If the noise only occurs at the far extreme turning point in both directions, this is normal as it is straining the power steering system. If the noise occurs all the time, check the level of fluid in the power steering reservoir. If low, probably a leaking hose or reservoir. Add power steering fluid to get level between min and max lines. Should make sound go away. If the noise does not go away and a flush of the system does not correct it, you may need a new power steering system, although this is pretty rare unless a leak has gone on for a long time with little or no fluid.
If noise is inside the car, one of the parts of the steering column or steering wheel may be bad.

1992 s10 blazer power steering noise problems

It's not unusual for these pumps to make a whining noise when under high load, such as at end of travel of the steering links. Yes, the gear box could be part of the problem, but first I would carefully check all the steering linkage tie rod ends - one or more of them could be badly worn or stating to seize due to lack of lubrication.

There might still be air in the system. Some systems need to have a vacuum drawn on them to get the air completely out.

Vehical makes noise from the power steering, but

Try to bleed all air from the power steering system:raise the front of the vehicle off the ground just until the tires are off the ground, start the engine, make sure the fluid is at the proper level, while engine is idleing turn the steering wheel from lock to lock in both directions( do not hold at full lock for more than a second) repeatedly,at a average turning speed back and forth about 10 to 15 times, shut engine off, lower vehicle, check fluid level once again, take out for test drive for at least 10 to 15 minutes,if noise is still present then it's time to replace the power steering pump.Good luck!
