It may not be anything you are doing wrong. You will have to see how your player is seen buy your computer. Go to your control panel -> System -> device manager --> Look for your player there, does it show up as a Portable Device? NOTE: The player should show up on the Device Manager's right pane as:
1. USB Mass Storage device (if the player is set to MSC)
2. Portable Device (if the player is set to MTP mode.)
It should sync with Media player if it shows up as a Portable device - but if it shows up as a Mass storage device all you have to do is drag and drop what you want into the right folder on the player.

How do i download music to my mp3

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files onto your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player.
For CD disks you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto yourcomputer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3player.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.

San Disk 260 MP3 player doesn't syn anymore

I found a suggestion on your site to turn off the MP3 player and disconnect from port - then while holding down the volume button I reconnected it and continued to hold down the button for about 50 seconds. It may not be what fixed it but the computer recognized the player as new hardware and I was able to go to the Media Player and syn - the next time I booted up my computer the little "found new hardware" icon appeared - and kept appearing until the noise drove me crazy - but I restarted the computer and it went away. Thanks!

My Phillips Go Gear 8GB MP3 player wont sync music

Windows Media Player 11 ruins this player. Uninstall Windows Media Player 11, and roll back to Windows Media Player 10. Then use version 10 to sync songs to your device.

Insignia NS-8V24 Rhapsody problem

burn the music you PAID for to a cd then rip it back to the system and use Windows Media Player 11 to sync the files to the device (only works if you have a burn feature in rhapsody)

Windows Media Player will see it all the time and is more compatible then Rhapsody with the device

Insignia NS-4V24 sync error

Most likely a issue in the FAT or similar table. The tables used on the internal memory is allocated only for short files names since most media managers change the file names to fit 8.3 dos. They do this since mp3 and mwa audio files use id tagging. So try renaming your mp3's that its eight letters or numbers then the three letter extension .mp3 = rap0001.mp3

Mp3 player keeps getting SYNC notice

For NS-DA1G and NS-DA2G: If you are receiving a SYNC notice, your DRM media license has expired. If you are using a media manager like Best Buy Digital Media Store or Windows Media Player. you will first need to authorize the player as an MTP device (device authorized to play Digital Rights Management song files) and then re-acquire the licenses for the tracks. There should be a button that allows this function in your media software.

If you want to remove your DRM tracks, got to:
MENU - Settings - USB - File & Folder

This puts your player into Mass Storage Mode. Once in this mode the player will act like a USB drive and you can navigate to and delete your unwanted files.

Transferring music to Insignia MP3 player

When using your media player... you need to first figure out if you are using windows media player 9 or windows media player 10. Also what windows are you using on your computer, that makes a difference as well... Make sure you have the mp3 player plugged in properly and then...Once you are in your windows media player go to your lib tab... soon as you are in there then on the right side there should be section on where you could build a lib list. Meaning you should be able to pick the songs in your lib and just drag them over. On the bottom you should see something that says sync... Once you've choose your songs and dragged them over... all you should have to do is press the sync button and it will do all the work for you from there. And it should let you know when its complete...mine does. Hope I could help you.
