Well I think you could look on the motherboard itself. it has a schematic for the connection. It's hard to see but it's there. I hope this would help

I have an MS-7502VER:1.2 motherboard and i cannot find wher to plug the power switch into

Hi scouts692

The Front Panel Header Pin arrangement for this motherboard is unusual, in that the header only appears to have 8 pins in a single column rather 2 parallel columns of 6 Pins with 1 blank, as most conventional motherboards do.

Pin 1 is POWER SWITCH orange or red (PWR SW 1)
Pin 2 is POWER SWITCH white or black (PWR SW 2)
Pin 3 is POWER LAD + (PWR LED -)
Pin 4 is POWER LED - (PWR LED +)
Pin 5 is HARD DRIVE LED - (HD LED -)
Pin 6 is HARD DRIVE LED + (HD LED +)
Pin 7 is RESET SWITCH blue or green (RST SW/RST 1)
Pin 8 is RESET SWITCH white or black (RST SW/RST 2)

Please refer to a PDF of the Motherboard Manual for additional information about the setup of this motherboard (the relevant page for the Front Panel Header is page 17/Section 2-13)

hope this helps.

I need help connecting the power on cable and led cable as well as the hard drive light cable. for my emachine w3644

These cables are attached in the lower right corner of the motherboard. There are two rows of pins there. Probably 10 pins in all. They should be marked with letters something like hdled (hard drive LED), pwr (power light) pwr sw (power switch) spk (speaker) etc. Anyway, if you can't find markings, hooking the little plugs up to sets of the pins one plug at a time will tell you which works. You can't hurt anything by trying various combinations

I have a GA-81865GME-775-RH motherboard, which i put into my box, made all the connections, but have no power once I switch the box on. I suspect it has something to do with the wiring loom running from...

Hello julian_ad681

I will tell you how wire your case front panel, but before that lets test the motherboard to make sure the problem is not the board itself.

Remove all the wire connections to the front panel.

Turn the power on and with a small screw driver or anything that is metal short (touch) the two pins that are the PWR SW. (look at the list of pins I have put at the end)

If the computer turns on then it means the board is ok.

The following information is also availabe in the motherboard manual available from the gogabyte web site download section

On the motherboard next to the battery is the front panel header pins. it looks like

0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 i also write them as numbers as well to make it easy for you)
0 0 0 0 0

1 2 3 4 0 0 0 0
5 6 7 8

1 and 2 are message LED. you don't need any connection to this.
3 and 4 are the power switch connections no polarity, just connect the wires
5 and 6 are the hard disk LED. 5 is the positive side (usually red)
7 and 8 are the reset switch. no polarity, just connect the wires.
Next to the message LED there is a three pin connection. This is for the power LED.

hope this has helped you.

TRYING TO HOOK UP MU POWER BUTTON NEED TO KNOW

Hi there
The front panel connectors are mainly,
  • harddisk activity connector
  • power switch connector
  • reset switch connector
  • power LED connector
  • speakers connector
  • USB connector
Harddisk activity connector
This normally comes red in colour and is labeled as HDD-LED
Power switch connector
This comes green in colour and is labeled as POWER-SW
Reset switch connector
This usually comes grey in colour and is labeled as RST-SW
Power LED connector
This is usually green in colour and is labled as PWR-LED
Speakers connector
This speaker will give different beep sounds during boot to tell the user if there is any errors. It occupies 4 pins, however only 2 is important for the function. Be sure to connect the red coloured cable to the positive polarity and the black to the negative.
