Hi
Please help if you can. My 5 year old washing machine lets water in, does not go through wash cycle, does not drain and does not spin.
The last time we had this problem a technician replaced the brushes.
How do I gain access to the brushes that possibly need to be replaced?
If I could get hold of a workshop/service manual for this washing machine I would grateful.
Also..any idea how long these brushes should last? The machine is used for 2 loads a day..7 days a week.
Many thanks
Brushes usually available on ebay,
if the drum rotates but does not spin, this could likely be brushes or component problem (i.e triac or relay) on control PCB. - the latter was the problem i had and this was easily spotted as a blackened track on the Relay on the pcb.
Brushes should be ~£5. - check the existing brushes first before buying them.
fitting is easy, BUT a word of warning..which you probably know anyway..
before meddling though in the machine, locate the large capacitor and with electical screwdriver and discharge all the terminals to earth first! - YOU MUST DO THIS TO AVOID ELECTRIC SHOCK!! - even if the machine is unplugged.
remove motor & undo the back plate to release old brushes.
clean of motor of any excess carbon dust, - this can eventually cause arching if not cleaned away.
reassemble and fit all plugs back.
THEN TAKE 5 MINUTES TO CHECK WHAT YOU HAVE DONE BEFORE SWITCHING ON. -
Do not rush anything - take your time.

Many thanks...I had the repairman (that originally replaced the brushes 9 months back) come and look at it. He collected the motor and said it was the brushes and he would get it fixed at no cost to us as they should have lasted at least 5 years.
That was where the good news ended.
Since then (almost a month) he said that it was the commutator and brushes that were faulty and it would cost the price of a new machine to get it fixed. He recommended a re-conditioned motor.
I had no choice but to get a new machine (he still has my motor) as he said his friend who works at Bosch may be able to get me a second hand motor.
My question...can a "commutator" in the motor cost more than a new washine machine? If yes then it is ridiculous...your thoughts?
Many thanks
Machine is erratic with the cycles, sometimes spin other times not, does not do full cycle, and often have to change to spin or drain. Been standing for one year. But problem was there almost from new. I purchased machine in Cape Town South Africa. 50 cycles. Now in the Philippines 60 cycles. I had to change the 50 cycle drain pump as it would stop at drain and pump only click erratically, it would start sometimes if I opened the drain plug, and bled the water. I replaced with 60 cycle and it was ok, again erratic cycles started later. Voltage is 220V as in South Africa. The voltage is sometime erratic here and will register 180 volts at peak times. Is it necessary to fill via the inlet pipe as I tested by filling directly into drum? Can you tell me the purpose of diaphragm with pipe going into the drum and where is the spin sensitive item situated. I suspect the printed board with the dials? I am pretty good at fixing things so with a little help I may be able to fix this problem. Front loading machines are not common in the Philippines and I think I may do a better job of fixing it that the locals.10 years old not used much
Where can I find a parts drawing and instructions to remove the motor and brusches for the Bosch Axxis WFL2060 Front Load Washer
my washing mashing doesn't spin and drain the water
Bosch engineer tested the machine with the computer box. New motor belt. bearings will go on the drum. all this maintenance would be same as a new machine. Checked yellow pages. bloke turned up, looked a bit of a cowboy..... new brushes @ £20.00. still running 3 years to the week. Now I think it needs new brushes again!!!!
Help! New seasonal tenant coming on Sunday. My 2060 started giving me problems 2 months ago when the clothes were not spun out and I would need to turn the dial to spin and re-spin. The clothes were good after this step. Just recently, when the was cycle began, I hear the water value click but no water came out. We cleaned the screens and did all of the maintenance checks. It does fill when the dial is on warm but still no cold. Ok, I can live with warm washes only but....no the wash cycle does not progress to the rinse cycle. What is going on. Unit is 4 years old. Anyone know what to do with this?
