Summary

Usage of compatible ink and leave the printer idle too long may cause printhead clogging
What should you do if you get this problem. Relax; you may recover the printhead by unclogging it. Follow these steps to unclog the printhead

1. Right click in the printer driver name
2. Select Properties menu
3. Click Maintenance tab
4. Click on cleaning sign for regular cleaning. Perform this up to 3 times.
5. If this does not work, perform Deep Cleaning

And if that not work

Some times it needs a good clean up but this is up to you if you want to do this,
But after you done this prime the printer so it gets the inks back in the heads, it may take a little time for the inks to work.

Ok.

There is fluid cleaner for this but I can never find any in the shops the only ones I seen is when they sell them in Tesco but they come in with the ink refill bottles so I just use worm water by it self on a cloth and dabbing on the heads to clean them, it will not harm the heads but not to much water.

Some heads are on the inks them self but some have them inside the printer so I not know your printer so if the heads are inside you need to get them out you may find that some heads will just clip out put some need to be unscrewed so you got to know how they come out so be careful and not push to hard on them, if the heads are on the ink then it is a easy job to clean them,
It worth a try it worked for me more than ones.

Please all I ask is call back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one, so I will keep on helping.

The print is faded . ther are three color bar missing on the test page ( yellow, black , and black).

Hi

Go into Maintenance in the Kodak Printer Management Program and try the Nozzle Check and Head Cleaning functions until the Test page prints clearly.

Head Cleaning might be necessary after every cartridge change.

I hope this helps.

Brother 490cw no red and no yellow print after a few time cleanning still not working blue and black work fine

You need to have the print head replaced. Brother is covering the cost to repair this problem if you call 1-877-276-8437 and tell them you are missing 2 colors on print outs.

I've encountered an Incorrect Yellow message upon turning on the printer HP2820

The printer would only display messages of functions commonly as ink shortages. For example, color printers with encountering ink shortge would display a message. However, continuing to print would produce least impressive cooration where for multicolored characters tend to appear in yellow. Also, printers with ink malfunctions require inspection of cartridges, ribbons, and compartments for mal alllignments. Readjusting the ink compartments would request performing test print sheets as reallignment check. At which situation, a continued malfunction would be detected as diagnosable by computer popup messages. Refer to the printer user guide. Good luck

The pink colour is missing every time i clean the

Probably one of the red cartridges is empty or near empty or possibly the yellow - it will miss whatever color is low or empty or substitute the next closest shade using the remaining colors if one is out.

Colors are not printing the acutal color

It all depends on the meaning of 'not properly'.

Try creating a document with four different squares, or words, of these colours: yellow, magenta, cyan and black. If all of them print (albeit not with the correct shades) it is probably an ICM driver error. But my guess is that only one of those four colors will print badly, due to a defective color cartridge.
The OKI 5150 makes all perceivable colours using cyan, magenta, yellow and black toners, so if one of these malfunctions, the resulting colors will lack the required shade of, say, yellow, and will appear to be "wrong". The yellow colour itself, of course, would simply disappear (the "yellow" you use might actually be 95% yellow and 5% cyan; then the "yellow" square will be printed as a very light shade of cyan, while the other colors - say, 95% magenta and 5% yellow - will turn out almost exact).

Try with the color test and replace any failing cartridge; if all four (almost) pure colours do print incorrectly, it's unlikely to be a cartridge problem, and we'll have to dig deeper.

My printer is not printing. it will run the paper

I see you don't have much knowledge about printers. It always helps to know something about your printer. It seem you have a color printer. Usually a color printer has two cartridges. Black cartridge and color cartridge. The color cartridge usually contains three colors; cyan, yellow and magenta. If the black cartridge is empty, you won't see black text in the printed paper. Print a small photo and see. If it has all the colors, but looks dull (without proper black color), that means only the black cartridge is empty. If it is greenish, the magenta ink is missing. Generally orange colored printouts suggest cyan is missing. Likewise, purple color means the yellow ink is missing. If you installed the printer properly using the CD from the printer manufacturer, you will be notified when the cartridge is empty or close to run out of ink. But if Windows automatically installed your printer, then the system won't give such information. From the information you have supplied, I believe your blck cartridge is empty or missing. Oh, I almost forgot to say, some manufactures sell some printers (for example some Canon Pixma models) with only the color cartridge. Switch on the printer and open the printer cover. The cartridges will move to the middle. You can check whether the black cartridge is missing. Do not hesitate to contact us for further help.

Changed printer cartridge, color is not right on printed material

Remove the cartridge and blot the printhead on a damp tissue. A working tri-color cartridge would have a stripe of cyan, yellow and magenta on the tissue.

If one or more of these are missing you will not get proper colors from the printer. If your printer has a "prime" function this may recover a missing color. If not you will probably need to get a replacement.

Please provide details of the printer model for further suggestions.

Bob Headrick, MS MVP Printing/Imaging
