These trimmers are junk..... I have been through the mill replacing things... JUNK...!!!
Big mistake buying ANY Husqvarna products from lawn mowers to sewing machines... My wife had a HQ sewing maching and nothing but problems.....Very poor quality control..!!!! U.S. isn't the only country that makes lousy products...!

I REPLACED EVERYTHING SAME PROBLEM. WHAT FIXED WAS A NEW SPARK PLUG. IT WILL ONLY RUN ON A NGK BMR6A. NO OTHER PLUG WILL WORK.

That did it! I tried everything else, carb, fuel filter, air filter, different brand plug, etc. the NGK BMR6A fixed it! Runs like new - thanks!

Same here - new carb, air filter, fuel filter, checked spark arrestor - fixed it with the spark plug recommended in the manual - Champion RCJ6Y

My 128LD was doing the same thing and I found the throttle cable was too long (maybe stretched).I fixed it by on the trigger end cutting a new groove for the cable sheath to catch in.Worked well!

Carburetor Adjustment Screws "High" and "Low". Use tamper proof "Splined Carb Tool part # 530035560", available on eBay $8 (Fits some Husqvarna 128LD Trimmers and also Poulan Wild Thing Chainsaw carburetors). Some other shapes of tamper proof screws were used also, I'm told. Look at your screws and match the tool to your shaped screws. Numerous video's are available on youtube.com instructing how to adjust carburetor. "High" screw likely too rich or too lean. Use small 1/8 turn adjustments and remember original position of adjustor screw.

I've got the same problem. I've probably only used it 15 times. I would expect more from a Consumer Digest Best Buy.

When the problem first occurred, it seemed to perform better when the gas tank is completely full. Now it doesn't matter.

Im having truble puting the starter cord and springs back in my husqvarna weed eater 128ld

You have to take it apart, get the spring back in, then wind the cord around around it. Not an easy task if you've never done it. A small engine repair or lawn mower repair shop will fix it pretty cheap and fast.

Homelite weed trimmer bogs down and smothers out quits running

This could be a number of things. Clogged air filter/fuel filter/carburetor/fuel tank lid breather hole, cracked fuel line or primer bulb, or clogged spark arrestor in muffler. Here's some links that will help to change the bulb, fuel cap, fuel lines, rebuild carb, replace spark arrestor, and troubleshoot.

Husqvarna weed eater starts , but blows alot of smoke & then stalls out

Rod, Carb. may need adjusted, try loosening gas cap and start to see if cap vent plugged, there is a in tank fuel filter that you could fish out and remove to see if it is plugged. If still not running remove muffler and clean spark arrester screen, if screen plugged the trimmer will do this.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

My brand new Husqvarna 128 ld trimmer starts and idles fine. Will not run at full throttlle. Either dies or just slows down. Half throttle seems ok. Its like it is starving for fuel. How do you adjust...

Husqvarna is a good brand, if you are having trouble with running at full speed there is something inherently wrong with your unit you do not want to keep it around, it will lead to more problems in the future. I would recomend that you return it and purchase a Stihl they are very reliable if you want a machine that stands the test of time. Even a Weed-eater brand from Walmart will start better than the one you have right now and you will pay less or the same for a comparable unit, That will run great! Good Luck...
