Yeah its overheating. If its an older 60 gig model make sure to blow the dust out and put it in a more ventilated area
Your system is overheating, your beter of either repairing it or getting a replacement :(
If the
system turns on but then turns itself off, beeps at you and flashes it's lights
at you then you have over heated the system. The GPU chip has probly pulled
itself away from the board. This will require you to diassemble the PS3...

I am having the same problem...shuts off after about 20 minutes...PS3 60 Gig model, bought last October, right before the price went down...again.
I'm starting to think Sony's 'flagship' console is nothing more than a tattered flag. can anyone help me???
I got a 60 GB PS3, and it over heated within 30 minutes, but still works ok. I start getting problems in 3 to 4 hours of play
I turn my playstation on and straight away it turns itself off. I can't even get my game out of the playstation.
