Heats for only 10 minutes the will not heat again

When dryer is initially started, the dryer will heat for about 10 minutes then the flame will go out. after about 20 seconds or so,the igniter will then heat up red hot for about 7 seconds then it will time out. It will do that again about 20 seconds or so later then will go out, and keeps doing that. The gas part is not activating when the igniter turns on when the dryer is calling for heat.

Ok... Part arrived and I replaced the igniter. Problem still exists.

Ge gas dryer heats but doesnt dry

if the flame is lighting you have lint blocking the air flow either in the dryer or in the vent line, also if you have a flame for the first 10 to 20 minutes and then the flame doesn't light you have bad gas coils located on top of the gas valve, when the coils are bad they can work for the first 10 to 20 minutes until the coils get hot and then they fail and you'll see the ignitor glowing orange but no flame, bad gas coils.then when the coils cool down they can work again.hope this helps.you can try removing the vent line from the back of the dryer and see if the flame stays on,if lint is blocking the air from blowing out the flame won't stay lit long enough to dry the clothes.

Dryer not heating

odess, sounds like you need a new set of coils for the valve. Easy job. Remove the bottom access panel and you will see the gas valve. Remove the top screws from the coils and the coils will lift off and then unplug the harnesses. Install the new coils. Part number for your coils is 12001349. Price about 18.00 Check them out at repairclinic.com This should take care of your heating issues. Catriver.

The dryer heats up at first but the burner won't ignite after it cycles off. The ignitor comes on but no flame. I changed the rear thermostat on the vent housing but that did not resolve the problem.

you have bad gas coils.when they are starting to die the dryer will run normally for the first 10 to 30 minutes and then no flame, the coils work fine until they heat up then nothing.when they cool down you'll have a flame again.easy fix,the coils are on top of the gas valve, take out the two phillips screws, remove the metal cover and change out the coils, that's it part number 279834.let me know how you make out

if the dryer runs and heats for a short time and then no flame you have bad gas coils, when they are failing they work until they heat up and cut out, when they cool down the heat will work again for like the first 10 to 20 minutes and then cut out again.take out the two phillips screws on top of the gas valve, remove the top cover and change out the coils, check the coil with the three prongs on it or check the post you pull it off of,there should be a spacer on the post,if you don't see it on the post look in the hole of the coil,if it's in the coil poke it out and slide it back on the post, easy fix

Dryer starts, heat up than the goes out

Faulty gas valve coils are the typical cause of this type of "cycling". These electrical coils are right above the gas valves and when energized, these solenoids open the gas valves and permit the burner to light. If any gas valve coils are suspected of being faulty, it is recommended that both (all) be replaced at the same time. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Dryer flame on magtag wont stay lit. Pilot flares up but no flame

Thermocouple is probably bad. The pilot burns and heats a sensor which tells the CPU that the Flame can start, and the thermocouple heating up changes voltage with increase temperature and tells the CPU that the Flame is burning OK. If it is defective, there is no voltage change and the CPU assumes that the Flame didn't start for some reason, (Gas only!) and turns if off for safety. Over and over xx times.

I have a gas Gas dryer with low heat. The igniter is good, the gas valve opens and I get a flame, but it never heats up past 89 degrees. I'm guessing there is a secondary gas valve or something that kicks...

if the vent line is blocked or lint is built up in the duct where the lint filter slides into the flame will only stay on for like 5 to 10 seconds or the gas coils are bad, when the coils are starting to fail you'll have heat for the first 10 to 15 minutes and then no heat, when the coils cool down they will work again, these are the two most common problems with a gas dryer, try removing the vent line from the back of dryer and run it to see if it heats any better if so you have a block in the vent line.or run the dryer for 15 minutes and look at the flame and see if it still ignites,if not the coils are bad.next time send the brand name and model number off of the dryer, open the door look around the opening where you put the clothes in and you'll see the model number good luck.if those two things check good you could have a bad cycling thermostat located on the blower wheel housing but i would check for a block in the pipe or lint filter duct.
