Hi,
The tv was working fine, and we needed to disconnect the cable box to move it. When we reconnected the wires, the tv display was awful. The color is really yellow.
It seems like the display has blues, yellow, and grey, but no red.
I've tried adjusting the hue, saturation, etc, but it seems to make no difference regarding the color of the images on the screen.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Thanks for the note, Josh. We'd checked the cables and they were tight. While we were checking, though, we decided to put them in the second component "line" (as opposed to component 1) and the color was back. I'm guessing something must be wrong the that part of the tv. How long have you owned the tv? You have two options though your best bet is to locate your nearest authorized service center to have the tv repaired. Thanks, lee
If you are using a box unplug it and plug it back to let it boot up--if not have them back to verify the hookup etc is correct---they should without being asked also swap the box if used for another box.
If Dish is providing signal via the COMPONENT input on the set look for a loose or bad red cable--hint in this case swap red cable to green or blue and if loss of color is now different--bad cable or output connection from the box.
Set (we are fond of saying this) does not know what is hooked so if one color missing and good with DVD etc it is a problem in the hookup.
I got paid triple to go to one house (nearly 80 miles each way) as set was under extended warranty for exactly this issue---red plug (component) coming out of the box was part way out.
It appears that your connections are not correct. Please switch off the TV. Disconnect all the cable. Wait for some time.
Reconnect cables one by making sure you strictly follow the color code i.e. that red pin cable must go in the red socket.
After all the cables are connected switch on the TV.
Loud buzzing noise is due to wrong connection of cables especially the Earthing/Neutral
Remove & re-seat the component video cables at both the TV and the DVD player.
If the problem continues, disconnect BOTH ends of the BLUE cable and the RED cable. Connect the BLUE cable to the RED jack at both the DVD and TV, and connect the RED cable to the BLUE jack ob both the TV and DVD. If the RED color comes back and the BLUE is missing, then replace the RED cable (the red cable is broken and will not pass the signal that it is connected to).
If all works, reconnect the colored cables to the corresponding colored jacks at both the TV and DVD player.
If the RED color still won't display, isolate the trouble to either the DVD player or TV by connecting the DVD to another TV w/ component jacks. If the RED is still missing, it is a problem inside the DVD player - if the RED displays, it is a problem with the TV.
The only time I have had issues like this was because of the Component Cables not being in the right position (the Red and Blue connections switched), or a bad Component Cable where the Blue Connection is not receiving a signal. Swap out the cable to be sure and double check that it is properly installed. Green to Green, Red to Red , Blue to Blue.
Hope this helps,
skyassoc
You will need to check your SCART cable, that is the most logical point of failure. The manual can be downloaded from the Humax support website: http://www.humaxdigital.com/uk/support/downloadcenter_manual.asp http://www.humaxdigital.com/global/products/new_manual/F2FOXT100GB_0805.pdf
