Repeatedly pressing the HOLD key will advance the unit through all channels and bring up anything that you've programmed into it, and repeatedly pressing the SVC key will advance the scanner through the preprogrammed services (police, fire, marine, etc.). For more information you can download/print your scanner's manual here:

I cant program my bc72xlt hand held scanner

  • Before I list the steps on how to Set up your scanner I will say that I can get some frequencies for you if you list your city, state or zip code. I can also give you a manual upon request, free.

  1. First step is to get some frequencies.
  2. First press the "HOLD" button.
  3. Now enter the number for the channel that you want to store a frequency in.
  4. Now press "func" and "prg" buttons together and the channel will appear.
  5. Now enter the frequencies with the numbers on the keypad, don't forget the decimal [.] .
  6. Now press the "E" button to store the frequency.
  7. Repeat the above steps until you have all frequencies stored you want.
  • If during programming you ever see the word "error" then you entered an invalid frequency.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Regards, Tony

How do i program the current 2011 nascar seasons in scanner? how do i get rid of default settings?

The PRO-95 is a pretty good trunking scanner, but it's far from ideal for NASCAR monitoring. You can use it for that purpose, and the best way would be to clear all of the programmed information by initializing the scanner. Instructions for this process are on pace 83 of the factory manual, and the best programming instructions are also in the manual. If you don't already have it, you can download and print the manual, at no cost, here:
http://scancat.com/OnLineHelp/OEM_Radio_Owners_Manuals/RadioShack-OlderManuals/Pro-95/pro95.pdf

You can find a comprehensive database of active frequencies in your area, or at the race track, and a lot of other useful scanning information, by visiting:
www.RadioReference.com.

BTW, the best scanners for following the NASCAR action are the Uniden BC72XLT, BC80XLT, and the BC92XLT. All are simple to operate and moderately priced. You can also pick them up used on many web sites, including eBay.
