The pigtail cord has a hot leg and neutral for 115 volts, or if 230 volts , 2 hot legs of 115 volts & and a ground. The Hot leg (if one) is routed through the switch. The switch seds power to the compresor and fan motor. The neutral or other dside of power is the side all loads will terminate to have both sides of power as a AA batt in a flashlight, both ends of the batt must be present, as this is all there is and you willneed to trace wires a diagram is never required.

With a Kenmore 8000 BTU ac window unit there is a green wire that runs from underneath the control panel. Where does that go?

Most of the time a green wire is a ground and should be attached to the metal frame using a existing screw or a self tapping sheet metal screw. Thank you.

I need an installation manual for ac 75135 This is a closeout.

It is the either the fan bearings is going out of the motor or you just might clean the fan blades it the fan blades has any play on the shaft probably the bearings are going out to the motor.

I too cannot find the Vent Control Lever for my Kenmore 580.kenmore air conditioner model number is: 580.75251800. I DO see in the owners manual WHERE the lever should be, however, I do NOT see the vent control lever, nor ostesibly WHERE the vent can be, bought the unit new in 2009 from SEARS, anyone have any ideas?

Kenmore 580 75101 a/c will not turn off. All the lights are off but something inside keeps running, though it's not putting out air.

Check if pulling out the plug stops the noise. If the noise is still present you might be hearing the freon in the system running inside the metal tubes. It could also be the expansion valves still moving. This may be caused by incorrect freon pressure, leaks or faulty valves. If the noise goes out after pulling the plug, you might be hearing the compressor. This could be caused by faulty wiring or switch.

Safety plug on unit keeps popping out after running a while.

You have a short somewhere. With any luck you might have a wire come loose from the compressor.Side the unit out and remove the cover. Inspect the terminals on the compressor. if they are all fine then check the run capacitor. If it is swollen or leaky then it has failed. If that is fine then i would next check for continuity between each pin to ground on that conpressor. if you have any continuity on that then it is compressor replacement time.

Will not cool properly.

You have either a faulty thermostat, dirty condenser and evaporator or a faulty run capacitor. Need to service soon before the compressor is damaged. Sea Breeze

Burning smell from motor...what needs replaced?

Without the complete model number, I don't know for sure what componets you have, most likely is the motor. You will have to take the motor cover off and check it out. You can go to sears.com, click on parts, enter your complete model number, scroll down to cannister and it will bring up a parts list where you can order parts, also a diagram of the cannister.
