Partial assembly of FTA satellite reception system

Detailed written instructions and diagrams for connecting a MPEG2 FTA receiver to a 4DTV 922 receiver

  • Anonymous Apr 23, 2010

I do NOT have a Toshiba. your "solution" totally misses the system I have and what I am trying to do. Did you receive the additional data I emailed to describe in more detail what it is I am trying to do?

  • Anonymous Apr 25, 2010

The offered solutions #1 and #2 are so wildly at variance with each other, as to lead me to conclude that we are NOT communicating on the same wavelength . Either that or you are not very well conversant with C/Ku Band Satellite System.

Please discontinue any further attempt to come up with some other bizarre solution. Thanks

Ok, well to connect a FTA receiver, & A Satellite one, to a TV, is quite simple really. The TV antenna, goes into the FTA "Box", ALL Tuning and settings are done on this "Box". The "Box" hooks up to the TV, and uses it simply as a Monitor. This depends on the output, from the "Box". usually, there are Two, outputs. Component, and Composite. With Composite, you have 3 cables, One Yellow, for Video, would go from the "Box" to the TV, color to color. Also you need Audio, this is the Red & White Jack, again, it wires, Color to color. You select, on the TV/remote, the relevant EXTERNAL INPUT for the TV, to display a picture. Now if using Component Video input, well, that uses 3 Cables for Video, Green, Red, Blue, again color to color, at the jacks, also you need the Audio, which is Red & White. All in all Component hookup uses 5 Cables to connect Video & Audio. With Composite, you use 3 Cables altogether, Yellow, is Video, S-VHS, also two more cables must be used for audio, again, ewe use red & White. All in all, with composite, we use 3 cables. So you connect up whichever method you choose. Then after the TV is set to display the Video 7 Audio, Now you use the "Box" to "Tune" the "Channels", which subsequently, are displayed on the TV. All Channel, Volume etc controls, are controlled by the "Box's" remote control. The TV is simply a "Display". You simply hook up, the output from each "Box" to a relevant "Input" to the TV. As related,One composite, one Component, or HDMI. Whatever is available.

manual above,
You cannot connect a "Receiver" to a "Receiver" The BEST one can do, is use either "Boxes" on an EXTERNAL Video & Audio OUTPUT/iNPUT to the TV, or display device. FTA & Satellite, are on Differing frequencies, and cannot be run from a single antenna, Nor combined Both must have their own antenna, and their own Outputs, You could as drawn connect One Component, & One Composite or HDMI, if available, and select via the TV's remote, and all Channel changing would be done with the "Boxes" remotes. usually one sets a Volume level at the TV, and from then on, ALL controls are via that "Boxes" Remote, for Channel change, Volume etc.

Ok firstly you need to get a usb digital capture card or A/V grabber (usb)

install drivers for grabber
connect grabber via usb
connect FTA to grabber (thats it ,, you will still need to control the channels via the reciver)

or you can

use a tv capture card (usb)
install drivers and connect card
connect reciver to capture card using the RF cable..

you will need to purchase any of the above describer capture device.. the device comes with a cd that you need to install.. whilke installing it will prompt you to connect thge device.. after that,, it will run the application.. which will say no signal.. connect your revicer to the device , turn it on and you will see it on your screen.. now you can watch tv, use the record feature etc..

Perhaps in changing passwords, or who knows. My Kindle is not receiving books I order on Amazon.

Make sure you are connected to your WIFI, not someone else's, which includes your WIFI password. Make sure you didn't change your e-mail on Amazon without matching it on the Kindle.
Changing your password on Amazon will not change your reception of books.

My tablet wont load video...why.

Can you provide more information like what kind of tablet you have and what operating system you are running on it (Android, Windows, or iOS)? Also what type of video are you trying to run? Many tablets can play mpeg4 video but not mpeg2 for example.

You will usually have to load your navigation info while you're attached to a wifi network. After that it should use the gps satellite system to navigate you. It will need to be connected to wifi to redirect you if you leave the route that is programmed in.

Pen not work

That's a fairly vague issue, but I might be able to help anyway. I had a tablet PC that was a demo model and when I received it, both pen and touch were either disabled or only partially working. Luckily, a factory reset restored all functionality as if nothing had gone wrong.

Fujitsu almost always set a restore point at initial setup (where it asks for you to partition the hard drive, etc.) so you can give that a shot.

- If you've had the computer awhile, try Windows system restore, found in the control panel or via a desktop search. This can revert changes you've made one iteration at a time until you're in business again.

- If not, reboot and get into the computer setup/BIOS - I can't remember with which key as I don't have a Fujitsu machine anymore - and from there you should be able to restore factory settings and reboot once more.

I know it's not the most detailed account, but hopefully it'll get you pointed the right way.
